Well either the Democrats create an easier way to get judges off the bench (age limits) or the Federalist Society needs to be shut down by any means.
or the GOP could just not listen to them and select judges from a wider range of candidates.
Seems like they're paid not to, so that's about as likely as them not listening to the fossil fuel lobby.
ya that's the problem with the gop, the democrats at least buck lobbiests from time to time when the country needs them to.
Having the moral high ground by "not stooping to their level" results in the current situation of republicans controlling the government, destroying rights, crashing the economy, damaging diplomatic relations, increasing the divide, racism, etc. You can only fight the republicans and Trump by using all the means available. They sure use them. Or you can keep your morals, while they keep the power. I'm sure they don't mind that.
Roberts himself is one of the Republicans. He helped sell out this country in Citizens United, cripppled voting rights in Shelby v. Holder, voted against gay marriage. The only thing keeping him from being as bad as Kav is the fact he cares about the legitimacy of the courts. Look I agree with "when they go low we kick them" but a judge shouldn't rule against a man becasue the man pissed him off or offended him.
He should if what the man represents is a perversion of the system as it as an offense to justice itself that a man so corrupt is not punished for their corruption. If someone came before a judge for drunken disorderly but then nakedly and publicly bribed the prosecutor to go easy on them, bought the court reporter to "massage" his statements and put out public pressure to have said judge removed if they don't rule favorably towards them, that man has earned far more than a drunken disorderly charge, even if the judge doesn't have the power to charge them with anything more than contempt without the prosecution's approval. The judge can't hold Trump in contempt. He's not in his courtroom. A public rebuke, then, should be more than warranted much as a censure should come as a warning against promised actions before an impeachment against carried actions.
If he operated without bias not much of what Trump does would get through lol
