i wonder if we'll ever find the missing link between being a right winger and being a moron :bigthonk:
A supposedly low intelligence and easily controllable population for the government and cheap works for companies.
At least that's what the guy who told me about "uneducated africans" seems to think.
Personally I think they just want to have more falafel vendors to go with their fish and chips.

In all seriousness though, there are a fair few studies on this and it appears (I say this cautiously) that right-wingers generally have lower IQ. I've read the conclusion of a few studies saying that left-wing average is 105 and right-wing average is 95, but it's really complicated as a subject.
Here's one of the ones I have found again to look at it.

Please note that there are several studies implying no correlation at all. It's finicky to research and I generally try to avoid just believing in things that'll make me feel good with not enough evidence to back them up.
But the muslims don't work they're just on welfare??????
The most basic aspect of believing in a conspiracy theory is to actively deny reality and believe whatever you want to.
Logic does not exist in the same universe as these people.
wait what do you mean that first one's a conspiracy?
tbh the journalists thing over here probably isn't helped by the fact most of our papers are tabloid rags, but are still considered journalistic. And the ones that aren't tabloid rags lean towards being Tory mouthpieces because nobody under the age of 60 reads them any more.
TV news isn't much better for most channels, but at least they're legally obligated to not lie.
Clearly that's Jewrge Soros' plan to bankrupt the UK
I mean, are those even conspiracy theories? We've seem countless times that the poor have no power over the rich.
Rich people control laws to make themselves more money at the expense of the poor. That's rich people 101.
Those are rookie numbers, here it's 100%
I have to agree with the part about not trusting company bosses, the head of the place I work for lives in a literal castle with a moat and yet tells us we can't afford to get a microwave in the office.
I'd probably agree with that a lot of the time too, but I don't feel it's always true. When I had some serious mental health problems twice in quick succession at a great job, they were still keen to get me back and were really supportive. My team's boss was also lovely. I think it helped that it was a software company, but still.
You also have to remember is that it comes from a percieved lack of power or ability to adequetely exert power.
Most of Trump's base are poor white Americans or old white Americans who live in dying towns filled with drugs, homelessness, lack of quality jobs and etc. They don't have the broad infrastructure or capital resources like cities do so its just a never-ending tailspin into oblivion.
However, I can't explain England, its less populated areas which are generally been hit pretty hard historically in regards to economy are the ones that voted Remain whereas the affluent areas in the south are the ones that voted leave.
I have no idea how to explain that but I'm not English so...
I hate conspiracy theories. No conspiracy theory even comes close to being as bad as the things that are done in plain sight, but all the outrage is directed towards trying to figure out what planet the royal family originally came from or some other bollocks.
People see corruption everywhere except where it's actually happening.
Legit 90% of the Electronics department at my uni is Arabs, for better or worse. Likewise, 90% of statistics is Chinese people and 90% of engineering is a general Asian pastiche.
One thing you'll notice is that none of these groups are Americans, because the America education system is failing its citizenry so hard that very few manage to reach anything resembling university level at all.
