Monetary policy is the most important element of politics that you don't care nor know much about, and all of the decisions are being made by a board of unelected officials behind closed doors.

And no, monetary policy is not the most important element of politics, I'm curious what led you to that conclusion, but it definitely wasn't anything you picked up in a classroom or reading a reputable book on policy. And no, Ayn Rand isn't a reputable book.

Bad monetary policy caused the great depression, fool. It's absolutely the most important element in politics. The federal funds rate under the Trump administration has been going up. It's a great thing considering the FFR used to be 0.25% for an absurdly long time.

0.25%. That is the interest rate banks paid for loans for about half a decade. You'd take a billion dollar loan if the interest rate was 0.25%, wouldn't you?

Right now it's at 2.2% and they are going to announce another raise in the FFR on this coming monday.
