Theresa May condemns Tony Blair's new Brexit vote call

She added that there were "too many people who want to subvert the process for their own political interests - rather than acting in the national interest".
Bruh...
I don't know what TM is playing at. Or what's going on in her mind. But she does not believe in this process, she campaigned remain. She knows she's in part responsible for the feelings that led to Brexit, as someone who's been in a position of power for 8+ years. She definitely knows there's no way of winning this, and that the road we're going down is going to harm us. That it's happening because of some pretty hefty engineered consent on the part of some pretty shitty people in and out of the UK. I don't think she's after what's good for the country, and I don't think she cares about the democracy or principle of this situation. It's hard to argue there isn't political interests at play here, from TM and everybody in her corner.

If we're talking political principle here, here's my take on May's principles: she's an average power hungry politician who was the wrong person for the wrong time in the wrong place. May wanted to be PM and saw an opportunity when Cameron announced his plan to resign, but is only following through on this stupid idea because she's trying to be an "honorable" politician and follow through on her promises.
Over in the States, a lot of people despise Neville Chamberlain for his role in appeasement. If May actually manages to pass Brexit (which is still a stupid name for this whole fuckup), after a span of years when economists and other researchers catalog the human suffering caused by Brexit, May will probably become a joke here too.
For all the UK facepunchers, I hope this whole thing indeed implodes before the deadline and May will cancel the whole godforsaken thing. If there's any person to comment on inept heads of state right now, it's an American.
The only way the course the UK is heading (which is a No Deal Brexit) will change is if there is a vote of no confidence in the government and it loses.
May has put up her red lines she says can't be crossed and has left herself with no wriggle room, either with the EU or Parliament and as her deal won't pass through the Commons, the only thing left will be the clock running out - Newton's 1st Law.
Just like with our towns, all we have is shit'oles and slightly less grim shit'oles.
Why do you care so much about the EU? Is this some kind of trans-continental Neo-liberal society?
The EU is corrupt, undemocratic and responsible for not only fucks ups with the Euro and immigration and as a result this means
higher house prices and lower wages.
Got anything to backup those claims?
Not calling you out, just genuinely interested in not having my opinion on the EU changed because a guy on the Internet says its bad.
EU watchdog finds Juncker broke rules to promote political ally ..
The EU's 'democratic' system that elected a president nobody wan..
People say that Juncker is democratically elected. Bullshit. Certainly not by me, he is chosen by Governments and if anyone knows anything its that Governments [and I don;t get to choose foreign Governments] do not always have peoples best interests in hand. Why on earth would I vote for someone who is a] Not my nationality, b] Is from a tiny landlocked pissant nation that is tax-free haven and c] Is a failed drunkard politician who certainly gets paid a lot more than most politicians. Self-determination is a democratic right and the travel capitalist federalists of the EU want to destroy the countries of Europe and turn them into colonies.

I can thumb my nose at this naive assertion even more than I already have, but maybe look at things on the flip side before you talk about how great Brexit is for America. I can post facts too all day if I have to.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors found that prices were flat or falling across half of the country, with sales “in limbo” until a Brexit deal emerges.
A quote from the article you posted on house prices. Brexit has caused uncertainty about the state of the UK and whether people are going to want to be here in the coming years, the unnatural culture and artificial demand surrounding house prices hasn't fallen, genuine demand has fallen. The article notes the south sliding fastest, which supports this, as I'd argue that those moving to the UK or foreign people intending on staying often gravitate to the South because the capital is here. I personally don't give a shit about markets and numbers, I give a shit about people and if people are worried about what's happening in their country and becoming materially poorer as their country falls into uncertainty then that's uhh... bad.
Merlin’s chief executive, Nick Varney, said: “This follows a number of years of legislation-driven cost pressures in the UK leisure industry, including the unconsulted introduction of the national living wage, apprenticeship levy and a significant increase in business rates.
Also from the article you posted on wages. Brexit isn't going to magically make people get paid better, actual laws on fair pay will though. I've seen this first hand, apprenticeship wages are now slightly fairer, and as a result, over time the nation average wage has gone up as young people are being paid slightly more on average over time. The national living wage has exactly the same effect. I also remind you in your article a lead economist notes that pay is climbing slowly from previous dismal rates that don't line up with productivity, and is a long way from being close to fair anyway. It also seems kind of unhealthy to me that an average increase is caused so heavily by the smallest possible amount people can be paid going up, surely being payed the lowest it's legally allowed to pay you should be pretty uncommon and not just the way it is for tons of people.
