Can somebody fill me in on why leaving Syria is a bad thing? I thought most of us wanted to leave the region forever.
Once you're in, you have to finish.
This is not how you finish.
I've generally advocated for leaving Syria for awhile now but this seems to have been done with little to no planning or advance warning to allies in the region.
Because as usual, Trump made a decision in the worst possible way.
No warnings to our allies, no preparations, no plans. Just "okay we're leaving bye."
Leaving on it's own isn't a bad thing, leaving without consulting anyone and for seemingly no reason, god knows trump doesn't care about our troops, isn't a great thing
Like someone said in another thread, us leaving and Trump being best buds with Turkey equals a blank check to ethnically cleanse the Kurds, one of our few allies in that region. They’re being left to die in the dirt by a failed business mogul cheated in by fat cat Republicans working for a hostile foreign power to get rich.

Well, I was under the impression from talking to a couple of service members that most of the military disliked Trump anyway. Draft dodger, compulsive liar, a guy who claims to be more brave than soldiers, makes fun of veterans, and now the guy that fired Mattis. I'm sure he's got a few hardcore fans serving, but I bet the vast majority find him disgusting.
A recent poll showed 60% of vets like him, split by veterans' gender.
