https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46714984 Concerns have been raised over the readiness of a British firm contracted by the government to run extra ferries in the event of a no-deal Brexit. Seaborne Freight was awarded a £13.8m contract this week to run a freight service between Ramsgate and Ostend. The firm has never run a ferry service and a local councillor said it would be impossible to launch before Brexit. The government said it had awarded the contract in "the full knowledge that Seaborne is a new shipping provider". The Department for Transport said that "the extra capacity and vessels would be provided as part of its first services". "As with all contracts, we carefully vetted the company's commercial, technical and financial position in detail before making the award," it added. Conservative Kent county councillor Paul Messenger said it was impossible for the government to have carried out sufficient checks on the firm. "It has no ships and no trading history so how can due diligence be done?" he asked. This is a Galaxy Brain Government
In other news they awarded a commercial air transport contract to me mate kent and his sickass van.
Next up, UK Government blunder as they award multi-million pound house development contract to Greggs.
Was anyone expecting anything better?
So, when do we start making bets for which Tory MP is in cahoots with this one?
BING BING BING Fifth poster in the thread - congrats, you've been awarded the contract to secure our medicine supplies, can you start tomorrow?
"As with all contracts, we carefully vetted the company's commercial, technical and financial position in detail before making the award," But didn't check to see if they actually had any suitable boats in the first place.
I wonder if you can get the names of a company's shareholders under a freedom of information request? Like I'm half curious just to affirm the long held British stance that the Tories are all self serving corrupt bastards (and yet we keep voting for the fuckers for SOME FUCKING REASON).
A lot of that kind of stuff is available on the Companies House website https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10709921/officers
In the same philosophy enjoyed by a staggering number of people in this country, "IT WILL T R I C K L E D O W N!"

The fuck are they doing.
I thought "ferry" was a political jargon term but I suppose I should have expected it would be something this stupid
there's probably a monty python joke somewhere, probably uttered by Graham Chapman about how at least you know they're scum and corrupt and going to step on you, and how that's better than those liberals.
Why are they so dumb?! Why are they so incompetent?! This is just frustrating to follow now. No longer funny nor sad, just frustrating.
That's being a bit too generous, that's at least an actual boat.

And people ask me why I don't want to live in this country for much longer.
Allow me to say it again. What the fuck are they doing.
And it keeps coming and it keeps coming and it https://twitter.com/cathynewman/status/1080904237826027520?s=09
Literally screaming internally, holy fuck whose pockets is this shit lining because this is so fucking obvious.
My first reaction is to say Chris Grayling, but the man is such a colossal fuckup he probably fucked up his own corruption.
It wouldn't shock me that despite all the odds, Chris Grayling has somehow managed to fuck being corrupt up to such a degree that he's managed to line the pockets of the US Boy Scouts.
They proper fucked this one up https://twitter.com/mikegalsworthy/status/1083886169216176128?s=09
While that's funny and all you can tell that guy is just fobbing them off because he knows there's nothing the committee can actually do about it. Did he answer the question? No. Did he make himself look like a tit? Yes. Will there be any negative repercussions from this? probably not.
...is your vocabulary of British names exclusively derived from GTA san andreas?
