https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-says-he-would-have-made-a-good-general-while-trashing-mattis-2019-1 President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he essentially "fired" Jim Mattis as secretary of defense, criticizing his service in the Marine Corps and his two years leading the Defense Department. "What's he done for me? How had he done in Afghanistan? Not too good," Trump said at a Cabinet meeting, according to Bloomberg News. "As you know, President Obama fired him, and essentially so did I," he added, contradicting an earlier statement. "I think I would've been a good general, but who knows," said the president, who has not served in the military and sought five deferments during the Vietnam War. Plans for Mattis to step down as the defense secretary were first announced in a presidential tweet that said the revered former Marine general was retiring. Mattis said in his resignation letter, though, that he resigned over policy differences with the president. Mattis ended a legendary 44-year career in the Marine Corps in 2013 as the general in charge of US Central Command. He was reportedly forced into retirement early by the Obama administration for taking a hard line on Iran. In a string of tweets on New Year's Eve, Trump trashed "failed Generals" who dared criticize his policy decisions, an apparent shot at retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal.
Says the fucking draft dodger.
No you wouldn't of you fucking atomic twat. Mattis is the only person in your cabinet who was fucking sane, I wish you would recognize that.
narcissistic disloyal cretin. and he comes out and complains that people turn coat on him, when he's just as prone to stab people in the back in a moment's notice.
Trump thinks Trump would make a good every. General, president, businessman, brain surgeon, rocket scientist, butcher, baker, candlestick-maker, stripper, he thinks his brain is so bigly huge he's perfect at everything.
He he really dissing the godfather of the marine corp and the most brilliant general of the 21st century?
"Why don't we use the nukes?" - "General" Trump, 2016
Don't question it, you might go mad.
A known draft dodger saying he'd be a good general. Real life starts to resemble a sitcom bit more and more.
can't wait to see the democrats eviscerate you, orange fuck
Cant wait to see the MAGATs bend themselves into pretzels to justify this.
Trump annoucess human wave offensives as new tactic
Kim showed me this thing called a zerg rush, I didn't believe him at first but then he showed me a simulation of it where he used it on some marines and it was a bloodbath. The enemy doesn't have firebats so we have nothing to worry about
Can't wait to see supposedly pro-military republicans suddenly flip on Mattis out of nowhere.
I fully agree, Donald trump would make a much better General... A demotion from Commander in Chief would suit Trump well. The world would be a better place if Trump was only a General.
There is no nation, only Trump.
Wtf i hate mattis now
Always remember that Trump does not want loyalty, he wants fealty. The difference is that loyalty can expect some kind of reward, while Trump just wants dick-sucking lackeys he can throw under the bus.

What even is that image for the article
They don't need to. Most of them undoubtedly wrote off Mattis the moment he resigned because he disagreed with Trump about everything. Remember, Trump is not just their God Emperor, he's also a stand-in for themselves. MAGA-hat wearers are also cowardly turds who nevertheless think they'd be the most badass motherfuckers on the battlefield just because they own guns and wave the confederate flag like their ancestors from the Civil War.
If I recall military people were pretty much behind Trump because of Mattis What now?
They continue being behind Trump and start to pull flimsy justifications out of their ass for this and say that Mattis wasn't a "real general".
Two general narratives I've read/heard A) Mattis is a good guy who just disagrees with Trump and had to be let go. Trump's business background means he will pick up and lose people as a matter of course and it doesn't have to be personal B) Mattis is a globalist warmonger and Secret Democrat who was trying to sabotage Trump's foreign policy and had to be pushed out.
I'm sure any Americans on here that have served can provide a better answer, but I'd imagine most would support Mattis over Trump? And I hope Mattis tears Trump a new fistula over this.
"Sir the enemy is at the door!" "Alright, distribute the Davy Crocketts around the men, but leave out the mexicans and the blacks! They get the knives!"
2020: The PRC and Russia showcase powered armor equipped with arm-mounted flamethrowers. His Undeniably Immaculate Excellency General-Marshall Trump promptly shreds all of his battle plans.
Now THIS made me go HA! the loudest so far. Trump a good general, Hahaha
How can anyone support this? How can anyone stand behind this guy and say that he is a strong leader? He is a fucking coward and a delusional one at that. Do we have anyone that currently serves in the US military that can offer us some insight into how service members are taking this?
The only way it can get more retarded is if he starts firing secret service agents
