Prolonged shutdown would leave millions without food stamps

As much as it's tempting to say "Good, let the shutdown continue so the noose tightens around Trump's neck" you can't help but feel for the people who will suffer in the meantime. I wonder if this will tenpt some people into targeting Trump/the government with acts of domestic terrorism. Maybe some need to be made an example of.
I cant tell you how much crime will spike when people start getting desparate for food. People would rather risk jail than starvation.
I do it to, although it was considerably more amusing when Obama was president. Now it's scary and depressing. Like teasing a dog on a chain, but the chain breaks and now there's real danger.
I ventured onto T_D and there were so many "this only hurts democrats lmao" comments, they love seeing fellow Americans suffer. They're a disgrace to patriotism.
Instead acknowledge that a massive swath of the human population sincerely in their hearts want poor, brown, and queer people dead, that they will never change their minds, and that they are already taking active steps to further that ambition. Children are dying from starvation and abuse at this very moment and Trump's supporters are clamoring for more. Bear witness to their humanity, and if you cannot abide these acts defining your species then let them radicalize you.
I never said "shh shh it's okay, let the Nazis win, you just need to understand them."
I want these fuckers stopped just as much as anyone else.
But you cannot win by treating your opponents as subhumans with insufficient and incapable intellectual capacity. This is a toxic rhetoric that sees you turn into the animal you hunted.
These asspimples are people. They're twisted, sick, harmful people with incredibly damaged moral compasses and a massive tangle of inferiority/persecution complexes that make them easy targets for bigoted propaganda and fascism and they need to be prevented from gaining any more power than they have and removed from all power they do have, but they are people, not
attitude, I refer you to the conditioning of the German people to see Jews as less than human and undeserving of the same fundamental concepts and rights as "real" menschen. And how did that fucking turn out?
These people are willing to throw their humanity away for the sake of their hatreds. We shouldn't line up to join them.
I always find it sad when people take well thought out arguments from people like elix, boil them down to something completely different and then get mad like they're rational to do so.
There is no upside to sinking to their level, and dehumanizing people. There just isn't.
I hope my post didn't come off as sarcastic, I think you were quite correct in making it clear that these people are very much human and very much capable of cognitive thought, it just turns out that "human" is a useless predictor for the capacity for compassion or empathy. There's a portion of humans that want everybody different from them to suffer and die, and they're factually, demonstrably already carrying out their will - the rest of us should have a plan to defend ourselves.
I may have misunderstood your point, and I appreciate the clarification.
This is way too real of an addiction. I have to see what mentally backwards shit people genuinely believe out there, every time getting more and more amazed
