Lindsey Graham: Shutdown won't end as long as the "radical left" is in charge

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday said there will not be progress on negotiations to end the partial government shutdown "as long as the radical left is in charge."
Graham suggested during an interview on CBS's "Face the Nation" that Republicans are being forced to negotiate with Democrats who are being unreasonable in their demands.
"We’re having to negotiate with people who want to abolish ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], not support ICE. We’re having to negotiate with people who see border patrol
agents gassing children, rather than defending our borders as professional law enforcement officers," Graham said.
"And we’re negotiating with people who will ... accuse all of us who support a wall as part of border security as racists. As long as the radical left is in charge, we’re not going to get any
where," he added. Graham added that "the goal" is not to reopen the government, but instead to "fix a broken immigration system."
“I do want to open up the government," he said. "But the goal is not to open up the government. The goal is to fix a broken immigration system, to bring reality to this table.”
“There is a deal to be had here, but it will include a wall," Graham said. "And if there’s no wall in this deal, we’ll never have a deal.”
They're really gonna ride this to the end aren't they?
Trying to blame on the left what Trump is owning up to personally doing
good work retard lol
the republican party is America's worst practical joke and i wish it would end already
It's the lefts fault they don't want Americans to pay for a wall that the President promised Mexico would pay for.
Huh I didn't realize owning the house meant you controlled the entire government. How interesting.
imagine thinking nancy pelosi is a radical leftist. this is why trying to be centrist as a democrat doesn't work; they're just gonna call you a stalinist anyway and the actual left won't support you
Or the fact that this shutdown started when the right was in control of both houses and the presidency.
This shutdown is so fucking EMBARRASSING
Radical Left? Please, the democratic party is run by neo-liberal shills.
That's far more telling of Graham's own political standing than anything else
So you're gonna stay shut down for the entire next two years, you cretin?
Utterly pathetic. Trying to get everyone to approve of the wall by turning everyone against each other via lies.
Odds are I'm gonna have a hard time with food and covering my rent due to the shutdown, but I would rather starve to death homeless on the street than see The Waste Of Life get his wall built.
More people voted for you? You got control of the house? Is that so? Hmm? You'll be in control of the house in the next few days? That's cute.... Yeah, uh... think again - we're shutting this whole thing down till more people start voting for us again. In the meanwhile, we are going to blame all this on you to make sure nobody wants to vote for you ever again.
"You control nothing" This statement suddenly makes a lot more sense now.
Motherfuckers the shutdown started while you ran everything, you can't blame this on the new House when the old House let it happen too.
MAN SHOOTS TWENTY CIVILLIANS WITH A CARBINE AND DOESN'T GET ARRESTED, CLAIMS "THEY WERE GOING TO SHOOT ME FIRST FUCK THE RADICAL LEFT I HATE THE RADICAL LEFT LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO MY WONDERFUL TV" HE LEADS THE CAMERAMAN IN AND SMASHES HIS OWN TV "LOOK AT IT"
I apologize if this may seem retarded but in all honesty this is the only way I can genuinely express myself against the contempt of the right in the USA. This is phenomenally disgusting and this is going beyond partisanship into outright traitorous methodology.
I don't think Graham actually knows what radical left looks like if he is spouting nonsense like that.
Perfect song whenever someone claims the democrats are radical leftists or something...haha.
for fucks sake they do not want to govern anymore. this is not a national emergency, bring the fucking bill to the floor, cast your fucking votes and make trump sign it damnit
You are giving far too much credit to the republicans for this.
This entire thing is basically a temper tantrum Trump is throwing and now the GOP is trying their absolute hardest (and failing) to shift blame for something Trump cannot stop taking credit for.
They desperately wish this would go away because this will damage them in both the short and long term. Unfortunately for them, they have to keep following Trump even if it sinks them.
They can't win re-election without the Trump Cult and no Wall equals no Trump Cult support.
I'm shocked he doesn't have whiplash given how he jumps from the right to the left and back every day as if a republican senator from a southern state has to worry about reelection.
I'm honestly expecting a lot of dead or injured senators by the end of this if the GOP is really planning to keep the shutdown rolling. This is an extremely dangerous game to be playing when the pool of people directly affected is almost a million. It's practically a guarantee that someone is going to lash out in anger at their livelihood being taken away.
it's like watching a toddler shit their pants, brag about it, realize everyone is upset, and then start rubbing it on a classmate who they then tearfully accuse of being the actual pants shitter
only 40% of the country totally buys it and is cheering on the crying baby covered in shit
In two months 40 million people will have no tax return money or SNAP food assistance. If the Republican party wanted to dissolve and die they couldn't have picked a faster way.
