Case in point, I once mused to my grandmother that we could install security cameras in her house because I was worried about leaving her and my great-aunt alone while I was at work, because they're old and feeble/disabled and have no way of defending themselves in the event that some tweaker comes a knockin'. She brushed it off.
Suddenly she hears one story about people going door to door "offering free samples" while their buddies go in the back yard to look for points of entry and all of a sudden, she's all for security cameras.
