Hm... she's off to me. She feels like a more charismatic Clinton, but it often feels very forced. I'll have to see more from her, but that's my instinctual reaction to her over the past year.
Just a reminder that we have almost all the same policy goals, and that our only real difference here is about who we think is most able to transform their rhetoric to actionable policy.
I don't believe that an anti-establishment politician who runs an anti-establishment campaign focusing on the flaws of the party he seeks to represent, while the alternative is literally the collapse of American democracy and the rule of constitutional law, is the wisest card to be playing right now. We need, in my opinion, a candidate who can operate within an increasingly "big tent" political party to unify support against the naked corruption of the GOP.
As for Harris, I will have to see how her campaign develops before I can say whether or not I think she's the right one to do that. She may have some questionable finance shit that needs to be dug into. If those concerns are more than tabloid speculation, then I'll likely end up pushing for somebody else during the primaries.
But painted as stereotypical Democratic loyalist variant instead.
Yeah, this is the kind of rhetoric that comes out of the Bernie camp that concerns me just FYI. I don't give a shit about the Democrats because they're my favorite team and I think they're infallible -- I care because, despite the flaws of the party, they are the last feckin' hope that we can pull out of the kleptocratic nosedive that the GOP have embraced.
Bernie can run all day if he wants, but we have to remember that we are all trying to do the same thing here and not burn down our own house in squabbling over who should run it.
You've literally entered two different threads (One unrelated to Bernie) and said "Fuck Bernie Sanders" and then went on to pour reasons out why he helped Trump win.
Tell me how thats not squabbling. Tell me thats not exactly what you're saying we shouldn't do here. Tell me why your first post in a thread about a candidate was "Fuck him".
You dont want others to spend their time squabbling over the elections and burn down the Democrat? Then pull it together and follow your own advice.
Fine, that's fair enough. I may be furious at the campaign he ran and the damage he did, but as long as he doesn't repeat his mistakes, I won't torch him just for running.
Literally how dare someone run a campaign in a democratic election and try to represent the people.
fuck bernie sanders the russian cunt, basically trump tbh, how dare anyone not consolidate under my preferred candidate
wait guys. guys. stop calling me out, stop fighting. we're in this mess because of your divisiveness, ok? why aren't you agreeing with me? why aren't you seeing me for the glorious messianic unifier i am? i don't understand
You have picked a very unusual hill to die on, sir.
There was a time where I thought your name was an ironic "lol dumb Americans amirite" joke but it's slowly started to become who you are.
I mean, I've said all I can really say on this. Ya'll aren't going to browbeat me into thinking that Bernie Sanders did right by our nation in 2016, or into being excited at the prospect that he's running again -- especially by following me around from thread to thread to talk about how stupid I am for not seeing this your way lol. All I can do is agree to play by the terms I'm expecting of him and every other candidate for 2020 by focusing on the cracks in our nation rather than the cracks in our party. If that's not good enough for you, then tough shit tbh.
I mean, I'm glad you've just out and clearly said "criticizing The Party is forbidden." Really showing off your respect for our democratic institutions.
Can we browbeat you into not immediately contradicting yourself at least?
then SHUT UP about how much you dislike Sanders, this really isn't difficult
I'm pretty sure BDA agrees with a solid 80% of Bernie's platform. Medicare-for-all, free college, minimum wage increases, reigning in Wall Street etc. Instead of welcoming an honest progressive ally, he stabs him in the back and smears him as a "spoiler" then hypocritically calls for "unity" in the same breath. Really fucking hollow, spiteful shit if you ask me. Do you have any principles at all?
This is so dense that it would sink on solid land...
It's not even the fact he dislikes Bernie. It's the fact that he thinks Bernie is the divisive force in the party, claims to be some kind of Russian piece, and then turns around and tries to support everything Bernie supports while saying that Bernie was never vocal/supportive enough.
It's fascinating to have gotten to watch the full rise and fall over the last few years.
Pointing out how your arguments are flawed != "YOU SHOULD THINK LIKE US REEEEE!"
I wonder how many female inmates Kamala Harris prosecuted were coerced into sterilization in her jurisdiction, I'd be willing to bet that number is above zero, considering how she had been in California's legal system for the entire duration of the atrocity.

One of the programs she's proudest of is threatening (mostly low income) parents with criminal charges to get kids to school. Kind of goes hand in hand with her sneering at "Build more schools, less jails." Our criminal justice system is broken and I'm not excited for someone who proudly boasts of adding to that brokenness.

The people stanning for her in the comments are absolutely wretched. Middle class WASPS are a fucking plauge.

And yesterday she, Also backtracking her stance of Single payer healthcare too.
