Nah, I think this is what it's called: Whataboutism
The principles themselves should really be enough
Yeah, how about we try it, huh? Better than the current system of taxing the poor and letting the rich off scot-free. Or are you numbskulls still willfully ignoring the half-century's worth of evidence that trickle-down Reaganomics is a massive hoax?
At this point it's a formulaic joke.
Seems kind of self-satisfied and nonconfrontational but ok.
I'm not sure what you expect. Conflict for the sake of conflict?
its not even state owned, they've put the military in charge of everything as a means to maintain power.
I'd call it the sane reaction to an insane situation.
I agree with sheltersystem but I'm also not sure what kind of intellectual discussion they think we're supposed to be having instead.
You're free to post your own take, you know. Given you just joined yesterday and you're already crying about the "Facepunch hivemind" I have my suspicions, but have at it. You're not gonna get banned unless you're a shitter who argues in bad faith or doesn't source properly.
Nonsense, people were simply applying Larry Kudlow's logic to other aspects of life to point out how his strategy for forming an argument is bullshit, at least that's how I see it. E.g. "Doing X won't work because just look at (unrelated) Y thing!" It's an easy way to discredit something with minimal effort, e.g. "world hunger isn't a problem because just look at this big plate of food I'm about to eat!", where's the logic in something like this? However if someone tries to expose a person's reasoning when they're doing something like this you'll quickly find out that they have nothing to back up what they said, or if they do have their reasoning then it likely wasn't thought out entirely. That's not to say that this is always the case, but it happens a lot. But anyways, this feels like a trivial thing to scrutinize. What people said was funny and served to expose the ridiculousness of what Larry Kudlow said. Who knows? Maybe at the end of the day Larry Kudlow is correct in saying "Taxing rich people...It never works...look at Venezuela...", however his logic in this circumstance is flawed and so whether he is/isn't correct is uncertain.
his argument is flawed because venizuella has a 34% tax rate from what I can find, and the sectors they nationalized are run by the military which embezzles large amounts of the cash while mismanaging them
