The thing is, the Alt-right was never punk rock. It's always been conservative man-babies trying to defend, or increase the scope of, a status quo that benefits them. In the heydays of Punk Rock, the Alt-right would still be in the exact place they are now, and Punk rockers would be itching to kick their heads in. "Nazi punks, fuck off, etc etc"
it never was
From a real politik perspective the current Republicans make outlandish claims and use that at a starting point for any negotiation knowing that the majority of democrats want to "compromise". this consistent theme is starting to break with people like Ocasio who just call them on their bullshit and have an actual spine which means more gridlock but less tolerance for the insanity the Republicans have been spewing for a while now. Essentially the main weapon they use to get what they want is under threat from the changing of the guard. Personally I'd rather the government do nothing than make an errant decision that effects millions but I think I'm in the minority on that one.
Gridlock is preferable to allowing this insanity to gain more ground IMO.
If you can't beat them, join them. If you can't join them, say they did all the things you did to try and beat them so they get in trouble.
Call me when they actually do something about Trump, otherwise I'll assume they're just using these concerns as a political bludgeon
