Perpetual Brexit. The UK will be neither living nor dead, but always stuck between worlds.

they couldn't compromise on a bloody tv debate how did anyone expect them to sort out all of this?
The madlads actually did it: the Cooper-Letwin bill, which forces the government to request an extension to A50, has passed through parliament in just 3 sitting days and received Royal Assent. Theresa May is now legally required to table a motion on Tuesday specifying the length of delay she will seek - this motion will be amendable. If the EU proposes a different date, she'll now be legally required to hold a vote on the offer and won't be able to straight up reject it. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/apr/08/theresa-may-forced-to-delay-brexit-after-historic-win-for-mps
Will breakfast never come?
Only if you eat your god damn vegetables and go to bed god dammit!
AND YER MEAT, YO7 CAN'T HAVE ANY PUDDING UNTIL YOU EAT YER MEAT!
Draft conclusion from tomorrow's emergency EU summit approves our extension request, but currently just says 'xxxxxxx' where the new deadline date will go. Hilariously, there's also a specific bullet point (#6) reminding us that we can cancel Brexit at any time and they won't be mad at us https://twitter.com/faisalislam/status/1115662778864427010?s=09
Well, not more than we already are.
European Council meeting is underway and has already provided a new meme source https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/165/a60284fe-a99a-4c14-aba9-c868c0371a2c/image.png
Wow so apparently Theresa May has now literally had to leave the room while the EU27 decides our fate, this is a pretty major national humiliation huh
STRONG AND STAMBLGEF
I thought this was one of those s[he] be[lie]ved things for a moment and scanned it trying to figure out wtf was going on for far longer than I should also gotta love having another anxiety filled night over this bullshit
To be fair she had to do that the last time they decided on the extension, so it is nothing new.
A delay has been agreed till 31st October, it will be reviewed in June though.
I was worried that Macron was gonna force everyone to settle for the far shorter delay. Thank fuck.
The prime minister left the room while all the other EU leaders discussed whether to delay Brexit. Now, she's been called back in. Yep, but that doesn't make this feel any less like a kid who's been made to wait outside the head masters office.
This is going to be the spookiest Halloween ever
A real Nightmare on Downing Street

They're trying to do something that they'll never get majority support on, and even if they do it'll be a shitshow. Either they shoot themselves in the head or they jump off a cliff into a pit of swords.
That's what happens when you decide a less than 2% margin for majority is a mandate to ram through the item in question. There is a reason why referendums like these are non-binding.
Brexshit.
This is so fucking embarassing, for the UK and the EU.
Sweet, see you guys in October when this all plays out again.
6 months to move to cancel it.
I hope we can fix this.
Not until they're sure they can't extend it any further.
Many people here perceive it as a weakness that the EU lacks the kind of sterness and that the UK can basically do what it wants. Although I do not share necessarily the same sentence. Should have phrased my post differently. Also, holy shit Yahnich.
