Guys I went into the future and got a hold of next week's newspaper and... oh crap https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/210790/15225e5f-7bc7-456a-bcfe-eb986554119c/facepunch-times.png
Damnit, looks like Saturday Night Live are cancelling half of tomorrows sketches.
legit doubting at this point that trump is actually going to have anything happen to him, or trump getting off lightly despite having a clear involvement. i mean its shit but if you like at the history of prosecution for people in a similar position who also have lied to congress (Michael Cohen, Eliot Abrams) you see that the american justice system doesn't really deal out much justice to powerful white guys.
Wasn't Cohen's light sentence a condition of his plea deal? It was manafort's sentencing that was bullshit. However... he still got almost eight years. Trump getting 8 years in prison would be fantastic as far as I'm concerned, given that the fucker is so unhealthy that he'll probably kneel over and die halfway through his term. (I don't expect Trump to get any prison time until he's at least no longer president. It literally doesn't matter if Mueller declares him guilty of federal - he wasn't going to indict him, because he's been playing this by the book - and the Republicans won't vote to impeach him.)
iirc initially cohens sentence was 4 years which is less than some possession sentences, white collar crime is not punished nearly as harshly enough as other crime even when the gravity of the accusations is higher
The thing is is that if white collar crime is punished that reduces productivity and profits.

Democrats have really ruined their credibility banking on an indictment of Trump.
Name one elected Democrat who said Trump would personally be indicted my Mueller.
How is Trump credible in this narrative you conjured? The special counsel started because Trump fired a republican FBI head. The special counsel is a self inflicted problem.
Senator Blumenthal "There are indictments in this president's future. They're coming. Whether they're after his presidency or during it, obviously the Department of Justice has said you cannot indict a sitting president."
Pelosi said they're not even going to bother trying to impeach him, because they know this battle isn't going to be won in congress or in the justice system, but in the 2020 election.. It's mostly the internet that's been all gung-ho about an indictment.

what does this have to do with democrats and the media being wrong about their cries of treason and collusion?
Indictments are happening whether he's in or out of office just like he said.
He referenced indictment in regards to the Mueller investigation
He said that in closing, doesn't seem specifically about Mueller to me.
This speculation is pointless. We still don't know the contents of the report.
I've prepared myself for the "no collusion" outcome for the last year. I really do not think there will be any sort of bombshell and things will carry on with infighting as normal. Really guys, its best we prepare for this outcome.
if you have to "prepare" for no indictment then you were banking far, far too much on the investigation in the first place.
I've been worried, too, about the amount of faith in the Mueller investigation to take down Trump, but there's no more hypocritical reaction to it than shit like this https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/172/a4e8f75a-a9bc-488d-a034-4831358b79d3/image.png 'haha you thought you knew what was in the report before it was out', says definitely not retarded person pointing to what he thinks is in a report that isn't out yet
I've got a close friend that shared that same meme just now. Ugh...
While I do not disagree with this sentiment I believe many, and I mean many people were in the same position. Especially with all things considered. The rise of misinformation and what I like to call (probably a wrong way to coin it) "showmanship news" we've had in the last 10 years it could be possible there really is no collusion. Really, no one can be certain of anything until the official report is released to the public. We invest too much consideration in news and media because in reality that is our source of information pertaining to events like this. I would also like to state, I'd rather this situation arise where there is NO collusion than us being in a situation where collusion was found. The implications that arise from collusion being confirmed are just simply unprecedented and its a situation that's not only terrible for the USA but the West as a whole.
Any Democrats who have said Trump should be indicted or impeached for colluding with Russia are clear outliers. The official Democrat position is that he shouldn't be impeached, at least before the 2020 elections. Trump would absolutely be wrong for running on "Democrat maleficence on the Mueller report". As someone else said, Trump himself has no credibility and will make up the most venal lies to attack his opponents so I don't even see why this matters. And frankly, I never got the impression that you particularly cared about credibility in politicians anyway so I don't see why you would be bringing this up. Are we reading the same thing? Blumenthal explicitly acknowledges that the DoJ says you can't indict a sitting president. You also cut out the line before this one BLUMENTHAL: That is really the critical point here. Even more so now than ever before, according to the intelligence we're receiving, we need to understand what Vladimir Putin and the Trump campaign may have done together, but also the obstruction of justice that was done by the president of the United States in real time. Which reads like Blumenthal acknowledges that collusion is possible, but obstruction is definite. So when he says Trump could be indicted, he is referring to the latter. Do you have any other examples? Preferably ones that aren't dishonestly taken out of context?

Take with a grain of salt, but Devin Nunes feels quite strongly about this: Rep. Devin Nunes And follow that with a complete spoonful of salt from a contributer to WIRED and the LA Times: https://twitter.com/page88/status/1109881090339155968 This may be an interesting night.

I'm half expecting it to be fill entirely with black censor bars
wow nunes really blew a gasket especially when you consider he voted for the report to be made public
will the report be read to congress? Is there any reason to keep checking this right now, or will it take another day or two for us to find something out?
