• Trump criticized George Washington for not naming his property after himself

I think you mean that in first grade Donald Trump learned that Donald Trump is a memetic badass and totally didn't fail PHYS ED after daddy donated a hundred grand to the school district. Not an actual anecdote, but I'm sure Trump got away with tons of shit his entire school career because of daddy's money. There are documented cases of money greasing the education wheels for him as a young adult. Also he's dumb as shit and is proud of the fact that he refuses to read -- he's proud of functionally being illiterate and being dependent on television/direct explanation from people for information. No surprise that his respect for history is only as far as he can twist it into making him look better.
Reminder that he has repeatedly threatened to sue his former schools if they release his grades The rooms, Trump said, were too small, the staircases too narrow, and he even spotted some unevenness in the floorboards, according to four sources briefed on his comments. He could have built the place better, he said, and for less money. Now this right here is what upsets me most about all of this. Here he thinks that he has some kind of connection to George Washington due to both of them being involved in real estate, yet they guy doesn't even give a single thought to the fact that this building is over 200 years old. He has no knowledge of the concept of foundations settling, or that building materials and techniques have changed over time. He clearly lacks any experience in construction, or perhaps the knowledge of which has since rotted away in his demented mind. It wouldn't surprise me if some of his properties are structurally unsound due to his insistence on doing something that looks neat or saves money despite the effects on the physics of the building itself. He clearly lacks the ability to see past the superficial nature of things.
Trump is an example of the rich using money to buy things to cover up their inadequacies. They buy businesses to say they're successful, they buy lawyers to cover up their misdeeds, they donate to their own charities to say they're generous, they buy degrees to say they're smart. its all a sham.
He's a vapid idiot who was fortunate enough to be born super-rich, rich enough to permanently game the system and pay to get out of trouble. He's lived in a bubble surrounded by sycophants who've indulged his every brainlet thought because it's what they're paid for. He's the kid in charge of the candy store who never had to grow up. Even the thing he was most famous for before declaring his candidacy, The Apprentice, was literally him getting to pretend to be a rich and powerful CEO firing people when the actual direction on who to fire was made by the producers and sent to him by the phone on his desk. And then there were several times where he just fired who he wanted, forcing the producers to scrounge a storyline out of B-roll to accomodate the unplanned deviation.
If people remember Trump and history books end up talking about him, it won't be for good things, that's for sure. His presidency is already plagued with a lot of bad shit, maybe the worst shit any US president has had on their ass in decades, the Russian fuckery, the investigation and all his attempts at stopping it, all of his dumb tantrums on Twitter and retarded policies like the Wall, how he's handling ICE, how's he's handling international politics. All that's gonna happen in the future is people are gonna be wondering how the fuck this guy got elected then move on to the next point of history. I don't think Trump realises this.
He sounds like the kind of guy who would try to build something out here in New Mexico without doing any foundation support, despite this part of the state being effectively nothing but blow-sand for at least 4-6 feet.
“If he was smart, he would’ve put his name on it,” Trump said, according to three sources briefed on the exchange. “You’ve got to put your name on stuff or no one remembers you.” The VIPs’ tour guide for the evening, Mount Vernon president and CEO Doug Bradburn, told the president that Washington did, after all, succeed in getting the nation’s capital named after him. Good point, Trump said with a laugh. There is a very big difference between naming something after yourself, and having something named after you. I think it speaks generally the significance of the impact a person had.
Looking forward to the Navy's sewage processing ship named USS Donald J Trump If the fucker gets a carrier named after him I hope its only use is as a floating target
I will plow my life savings into buying a landfill of any size in the US so I can name it the President Donald J. Trump Memorial Landfill.
https://www.mountvernon.org/about/news/article/statement-from-the-mount-vernon-ladies-association-about-the-trump-macron-visit/ MOUNT VERNON, VA - Mount Vernon has a firm, long-standing policy of not commenting on the details of high-profile visits to the home of George Washington. However, we believe in the importance of ensuring that reports about events that take place at Mount Vernon are accurate. As such, we are concerned that the third-party accounts of the Trump-Macron visit released by several media outlets today do not correctly reflect the events that transpired nearly a year ago. Mount Vernon President Doug Bradburn and Regent Sarah Coulson escorted the presidents and first ladies on a tour of the Mansion on April 23, 2018.  During the tour, all parties were interested and engaged in the story of George Washington and his beloved home.  Conversations touched on topics like business dealings, real estate, and related matters that were of relevance and interest to the touring parties, and questions were asked by both leaders with curiosity and respect. Comments pulled from sources who were not present for the tour do not properly convey the tone and context in which they were delivered.  https://web.archive.org/web/20180315150740im_/https://facepunch.com/fp/emotes_std/thinking.png
I mean he has an entire state named after him and his face is on the flag even I think that's a bit more impressive than slapping your name on ever tower you build.
