538 is really good about being objective about this sort of thing. They're really not trying to sell Biden as the obvious winner by any means. They're analyzing the data and trying to figure out what it means for his chances of winning.

reminder that politics has never been about honesty, it's about getting your foot in the door as painlessly as possible and milking corporates for all they're worth.
Joe had a relatively graceful and quiet exit from American politics in 2015 with a great public image that only got better with sympathies for the tragedy of his son's death. It is really quite heartbreaking to think of how badly he is going to be thrashed and eventually demolished over this doomed campaign.
I like Joe as a person. But not as a politician. And he did kind of choose to throw down, so if he gets thrashed, it was his own doing.
