• Local elections: Main parties fear Brexit backlash in polls

Whatever your views on labour or the LDs I will always maintain tactical voting is a necessary evil in such an undemocratic voting system. I should hope people aren't surprised when the Tory's waltz into No10 next election.
Oof. Good points. The LDs have been such non entities for so long that I genuinely lost track of their economic aspects. I don't recall them being quite that batshit a while back. And let's be honest, there's a much larger focus on their non-economic points. Which clearly worked as they managed to sneak that shit by me lmao. The center over here as definitely veered into the right a bit as it has in other places where nationalist populism have seen spikes. But yeah, definitely not enough for their policies to be seen as left in that case. That's my bad. Didn't do my due diligence and update what I knew about them properly.
Liberal Democrats are a bit hard to understand because they're more right-wing than Labour economically (although only just and not on everything), but a lot more libertarian and left-wing on social issues such as marijuana legalisation. It's why I'd probably vote Lib Dems in the GE if we had Proportional Representation.
Lib Dems have only done this well because they're the only party that have come out properly against Brexit, if you want to remain you won't vote Labour because they can't figure out their stance surrounding it, and if you support Brexit you'll either vote Tory/UKIP/whatever new thing Farage has cooked up and odds are you won't vote Tory because you don't think they've brexited hard enough.
I may be misunderstanding, but Labour were the ones who fired Professor David Nutt due to his opinion that classifying marijuana as more dangerous than ketamine was stupid. Lib Dems have been more liberal than Labour for a long while. It doesn't make them better or anything, but I was just saying the difference is not as simple as them just being more right-wing than Labour.
Sure I'm just saying that in this particular election no one is really paying attention to anything other than brexit and people are voting for MAKE IT STOP or GO FASTER and the only political parties that appear to be pro remain are the Greens and Lib Dems. This isn't anything to do with their political stances on other matters.

I voted for Green, got my Dad to vote Green aswell, everything's shit and Green seem the most alright ones.

Oh yea, forgot (and maybe most all the UK facepunchers too) that Northern Ireland also got their overdue local election's, last week with their final results reveal yesterday. So... here's a link, that their version of Liberal Democrat and Green parties won seats too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-politics-48158555
