Beck, 57, is expected to have an arraignment hearing at 2:30 p.m. His lawyers have said he intends to fight the allegations that he stole more than $2 million from his former employer before winning his statewide office in November.
The 38-count indictment charges Beck, an ex-insurance lobbyist and long-time leader of the Georgia Christian Coalition, with running an elaborate scheme to defraud the Georgia Underwriting Association. With the stolen cash, the Republican allegedly paid his credit card bills and taxes — and even funded the 2018 campaign that landed him in office.
I bet jesus is gonna be all-merciful when this piece of shit comes by to see him, considering he not only stole but used that money to pervert everything jesus stood for. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when that comes to pass.
I find it hilarious that the GOP almost always espouses, if not outright hides behind, Jesus' teachings while doing the exact opposite of what He taught.
If they truly did follow Him, they would be doing everything in their power to stop trump, to give us universal healthcare, fair worker's rights, living wages, et al. He teaches that one should care for their fellow man, that one should help those worse off than oneself with no expectation of repayment, that one should not be greedy.
You're kinda missing out on all the evil shit Jesus said but I agree with the sentiment.
It's been nearly 20 years since I've had a bible open so I'm kinda rusty on the finer details.
