Hmmmmm today I will reinvent politics https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/165/2d15307d-2348-48bd-9465-4152a3b9a423/Screenshot_20190526-233514.png Oh god oh fuck
Sargon of Akkad redemption arc.
i'd pay to study Tommy Robinson to see what makes him so deathly allergic to milkshakes that he fears for his life. What an exaggeration.
Lib Dems, CUK, and Greens should have all sorted out a deal and stood as a joint "Remain Party" What will be actually scary though is if these guys all stand against each other in a fucking FPTP general election
What did you expect? nobody's willing to cooperate because everyone thinks they know best about who's going to solve the problems britain's facing, or even, simply mistrust each other over some small thing or the other. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink after all.
Apparently they were very close but the short time before the election meant they couldn't quite get there. Hopefully in a general election they'd manage it.
Labour deputy leader Tom Watson has launched his campaign for the party to stop fucking around and back Remain immediately https://twitter.com/tom_watson/status/1132777151936323585?s=20
Too little too late there Watson.
He's been trying for months
I wonder if the milkshakes encouraged people to vote Brexit party tbh.
What the fuck. The South East region now has two MEPs named Alexandra Phillips, one from the Greens and one from Brexit. I legit thought they had fucked up the name and had to check
Oh please, the only people are buy into the oppressed nazi narrative are people that would have voted for the brexit party anyway. Anyone with two brain cells left to rub together can look past their whining as the transparent hypocrisy it is, frankly we should be throwing something harder at them.
the current standings, with just two more regions of England to declare: https://images.scribblelive.com/2019/5/26/dc3ab382-ff61-4841-97e8-367cd96c3349.png
You'd be surprised by how people are swayed by bad etiquette. It's not like it wouldn't unheard of, people were speculating in the other threads those stunts may away voters.
No it would be unheard of, people have been throwing food at politicians for decades, the only difference is the people its being thrown on now are so pathetic they can use it to craft some narrative about the death of civility and how they're in danger 24/7 instead of just walking it off like people used to. I'm aware that some people on this site have bought into this narrative but that doesn't give it any legitimacy or basis in reality.
I’m sorry pop your paranoia, but that’s ideologically impossible besides promoting a Pro-European view as either the main/minor important issue. But its fine they can created a Pro-European Electoral coalition to beat both the Anti-EU and neutral national parties if they wanted too. If that ever happen, after this final election was complete.
God help us
God can't help us now... we voted to kick him and his sort out the country.
God this is depressing
Brexit Party is winning on MEPs, but by total number of votes Lib Dems/Greens/Change are over 500,000 ahead of them. It's frustrating that this is being seen as a mandate for Leave when a larger majority have voted against it.
The hipocracy is, were it reversed the brexit parties would be using it as a mandate "WE GOT MORE VOTES EVEN THO WE HAD LESS SEATS SO WE WIN BREXIT NOW!!!!"
Think we're talking about different things.
https://twitter.com/RobDotHutton/status/1132789202276560898?s=19 Schizo country continues to be schizo.
For God's sake Britain. Us crown dependency lot were relying on you. Gonna have to vote for Manx independence at this point. Your country is a shitshow.
This confused the hell out of me when I watched it live. Can we please invent a Remain Nigel Farage to stand against the Brexit Nigel Farage?
The 1.5 million votes for the conservatives apparently don't exist?
Is it wrong of me to not really care/be worried about this? Just like the last time the EU Elections happened, UKIP dominated. Then a General Election happened and they got absolutely demolished. Plus the turnout was pathetic at both 2014s election and this one.
The tories aren't a hard brexit party - especially given that the wing of the party who wanted that voted Brexit Party. A sensible split is: Hard Brexit - The Brexit Party and UKIP Soft Brexit/Some sort of compromise - Labour/Tories No Brexit - LD/Green/CUK/SNP/PC The result in terms of vote being: No Brexit > Hard Brexit >> Soft Brexit
Depends what's going to happen with Labour and the Tories. Both parties currently have crap leadership that would do awfully in a General Election at the moment, but there's a chance the Tories can recuperate... with Boris Johnson, or Esther McVey, or Jacob Rees-Mogg, or some other abysmal choice. Nigel Farage's threat to run in a General Election if Brexit isn't delivered is a concern though (note that he only cares about Brexit enough to run, nothing else). He'd likely run on the Brexit platform, draw votes because people are daft, and then we'd be at his mercy in regards to everything else afterwards.
The conservatives CCHQ rolling briefs and attack lines for its members completely absent from member mailboxes apparently, which is quite worrying for tories.
