Alabama's Immigration Law Passes (Or, Jim Crow for the Twenty First Century!)
;30505381']Use analrapists example then.
It's just as bad. Comparing immigrating from a country that's been raped six ways to Sunday because of our own nation's policies to killing someone or stealing from someone is completely inane.
I'm glad it is hard. We should let the best and brightest in. Not people who can't do anything.

So whats your solution, open borders with everywhere?
Why? ThatHippyMan is saying that it is acceptable to immigrate illegally because it is hard to do so legally.
So using that logic it should be acceptable for me to engage in armed robbery in order to procure one billion dollars because it is hard to acquire one billion dollars without engaging in armed robbery.
Really? It's acceptable to immigrate illegally not only because it is next to impossible to do it legally, but that is also partly the US's fault that Mexico is such a drug riddled fuckhole right now. Get your head out of your ass for five seconds and try to understand the wider picture.
And people say Republicans/the South aren't racist...
How is tightening immigration even comparable to segregation and the Jim Crow laws? It's not a matter of race, it's a matter of population and crime.

No. Reform the immigration system to be more fair and a lot faster. Offer more Green Cards with the stipulation that the person must be employed within the US.

Because Canadians aren't trying to immigrate here illegally. It's mostly Latinos. No matter how you frame it, it is race issue.

The law applies to all, including canadian illegal immagrants.
If mostly black people steal shoes, it is not racist to have laws against stealing shoes.

You literally have no clue how to make proper comparisons.
It's acceptable to immigrate illegally not only because it is next to impossible to do it legally
No, it isn't.
I know people who have immigrated legally.
You just have to be educated in order to do so --- Just like in England, Canada, etc.
is also partly the US's fault that Mexico is such a drug riddled fuckhole right now.
No. They can do bad all by themselves.
Though we should legalize pot in the USA, so that people will be less tempted to illegally import it from Mexico.
And people say Republicans/the South aren't racist...
i'm from the south
and just by this comment I can tell i'm much more tolerant than you

It may be a little wierd, but it is not an invalid comparison.
:irony:
That's not ironic. This law, by definition, makes illegal immigrants second class humans in Alabama.
That's not ironic. This law, by definition, makes illegal immigrants second class humans in Alabama.
Ofcoures it does. Just like others that break the law. THEY VIOLATED THE LAW.
It forbids the harboring and transport of illegal immigrants . . . . . . . . a requirement that officials in K-12 public schools determine whether students are illegal immigrants.
First part is perfectly acceptable.
Second part I need more information on, as to how, exactly, teachers and staff are supposed to determine whether or not a student is an illegal.
How is this anything like the Jim Crow laws? What part of this is mandating de jure segregation and upholding the doctrine of "separate but equal"?
;30505692']Ofcoures it does. Just like others that break the law. THEY VIOLATED THE LAW.
They can't attend schools, they can't attend college, they can't be transported, public transit and from friends, they can't live in a house, they can't legally provide for their children, and they can't just suddenly "get" their citizenship or get in line to get one.
That's a stupid punishment for a stupid crime. Saying something is illegal does not further the debate at all. You've yet to give a proper, well thought out reason besides saying "illegal" in capital letters or bolded.
That's not ironic. This law, by definition, makes illegal immigrants second class humans in Alabama.
They shouldn't have the same rights as a civilian of our country. Technically, they're not a member of our country, and thus, not subject to our benefits.
Also, I'm sure the correct term is "Second Class Citizens", but since they aren't civilians, that's an invalid statement.
That's not ironic. This law, by definition, makes illegal immigrants second class humans in Alabama.
Jim Crow laws were about making people second-class citizens.
Illegal immigrants can't be second-class citizens if they aren't citizens.

I didn't know living in a house and getting a ride from a friend was considered a benefit.
That's not ironic. This law, by definition, makes illegal immigrants second class humans in Alabama.
No part of this law, "by definition", claims illegal immigrants are "second-class humans".

So if you don't like a law you should be able to break it. In that case:
I don't like laws against stealing, so I should break into your house and take stuff. The law is stupid, so you'd be fine with it.
They can't attend schools,
Schools are for citizens.
They aren't citizens so they shouldn't be able to use them.
They can't attend college,
Colleges are for citizens.
They aren't citizens so they shouldn't be able to use them.
They can't be transported, public transit and from friends,
Same for the rest of this shit.
Because Canadians aren't trying to immigrate here illegally. It's mostly Latinos. No matter how you frame it, it is race issue.
It really has nothing to do with their skin color. Frankly, I don't care if they're Latino, White, or Purple, if they're here illegally, they shouldn't be subject to the same benefits as tax-paying citizens.
;30505857']So if you don't like a law you should be able to break it. In that case:

No. Stealing has a tangible impact. Immigrating does not.

And I'd agree with you that those things should just be for citizens if the US's immigration system wasn't so ineffectual and terrible.

Yes it does: They take American jobs, American money (through welfare), and break American laws.

Immigration systems are like that in virtually every country worth going to.
If you think the immigration system in the USA is bad, you've obviously never looked into the possibility of immigrating to a Scandinavian country.
