The FAO's food price index reached 234 points in June, close to February's record level of 239. The sugar price rise fuelled most of the increase, cancelling out falls in prices of wheat, corn and soya. The FAO's measure looks at a range of essential foods, including cereals, oilseeds, dairy, meat and sugar. High food prices - particularly those of wheat, rice and corn - have sparked civil unrest in a range of countries where people rely on them for the bulk of their food intake. They were one of the factors that drove people on to the streets of Arab countries earlier this year. A global food crisis in 2008 also triggered mass protests, including riots in some developing countries. World cereal output is forecast by the FAO to be 3.3% higher in 2011-12 than in the year before. The agency's most recent bi-annual Food Outlook said that spiralling demand meant that global food prices would remain high and volatile throughout this year and into next despite record food production. Exponential growth is a bitch
Stop using corn for fuel and start using the food you have more efficiently [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] also don't do some of the bullshit policies that some supermarkets have where they take out certain vegetables because they don't look good but taste perfectly fine.

Or, you could get a garden and stop bitching entirely.
Either bitch about gas prices or bitch about food prices. Or, you could get a garden and stop bitching entirely.
Or become a sponge and not eat or drive at all. We need science to make us sponges, issue solved. [sp]I kinda like the garden idea.[/sp]
Either bitch about gas prices or bitch about food prices. Or, you could get a garden and stop bitching entirely.
My father has a bunch of small piece of lands RUBBER AND FRUIT TRESS AJDFAHBFJLGAHAFFASASF
UN's kinda worried... Better drink my own piss.
that japanese turdburger thing is starting to look real appealing right now
you're gonna need more than a garden to make corn fuel feasible
Your gonna need atleast a small field to get more then a full tank on a normal car.
that japanese turdburger thing is starting to look real appealing right now
as well as the sports drink piss
Either bitch about gas prices or bitch about food prices. Or, you could get a garden and stop bitching entirely.
Food and gas prices pretty much go hand in hand. Food prices rise when farmers start growing corn for the use of fuel rather then to feed. The end result is they don't use land for food that we consume, instead they grow more corn because they're getting a good amount of money from corn used for fuels. Also telling someone to stop bitching and get a garden is fucking stupid. They're is no way for someone with a small garden to grow enough crops to keep them fed all year round. So instead of giving people stupid advice just don't post.
Kind of worried about the future generations.. I mean people have suffered from hunger in the past history, and it wasn't pretty. And now we've got a whole lot more people to feed with more on the way, and once food starts getting scarce (after all it's relying on machines, pipes, transport etc) it's gonna be hell.
uh duh my mom always bitchs and complains about the prices when she gets home from the grocery store
you're gonna need more than a garden to make corn fuel feasible
I think he was saying a garden to grow your own food, which is a good idea
I don't know about the rest of your folks, but it clearly has been rising in Finland, not to say that everything costs twice as much in Finland anyway, but now it's triple as much. [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] 2l bottle of soda costs like 3€~ these days here
that japanese turdburger thing is starting to look real appealing right now
That shit's expensive as fuck in it's current state FYI
Also telling someone to stop bitching and get a garden is fucking stupid. There is no way for someone with a small garden to grow enough crops to keep them fed all year round.
Nobody here expects a garden to feed a single person, let alone an entire household, all year round. But it can at least help to provide food for them, and, consequently, reduce the amount they have to buy. Pretty significant. What's fucking stupid is that you don't consider this viable for some odd reason.
So instead of giving people stupid advice just don't post.
Indeed.
2l bottle of soda costs like 3€~ these days here
3 words: LIDL, Freeway Cola.
3 words: LIDL, Freeway Cola.
Go wash your mouth. Both for that terrible excuse for a store and that pisswater excuse for softdrinks.
Go wash your mouth. Both for that terrible excuse for a store and that pisswater excuse for softdrinks.
I kinda like Lidl. Their prices are cheap while still keeping relatively good quality. Freeway cola works as a substitute of Pepsi/Coke if you are a bit short of money.

Telling people not to start a garden is pretty stupid advice, why don't you heed your own advice.
2l bottle of soda costs like 3€~ these days here
ROFL $1.29 in US Midwest How could it be worth anywhere near that much money.

But then there would be no users left on Facepunch.
as well as the sports drink piss
Eat and drink once and you never need new food ever again! Food crisis solved, Japan has no more shit, everyone is "happy," Infinite food
