Tonsils are not visible without surgery/staring someone down in the throat. 2. People generally get them taken out because of disease, not because it "looks pretty and DA LAAAAAAWD TOLD ME TA DO IT" 3. You're not doing it to fucking babies who aren't even old enough to sit up, have solid food, or think. Seriously.

Seriously though, this is just something people do. For example, the only reason I got circumcised so was when my Dad was teaching me how to pee in the toilet I wouldn't get freaked out cause my dick looked different than him.
