If a baby was to receive Lasik Eye surgery would you consider it mutilation too?
You know that it's later put back in place to heal? Also yes I would consider it mutilation seeing as babies don't need lasik surgeries.
My parents aren't very religious and I'm circumcised...
Probably because its very common practice, at least in the United States. Their doctor probably told them that having you circumcised would reduce the risk of disease, etc and they didn't know any better. If I had a child (who knows), I would most definitely say no to circumcision. I have to live with it, but I don't need to make my child go through with it.

If a baby was to receive Lasik Eye surgery would you consider it mutilation too?
Clearly not, as it's completely different and such surgery is done for a purpose. I mean, in my opinion people should only have operations because they need them, anything which affects their bodies normal operation negatively and can be rectified via surgery, I'm fine with. in my mind, circumcision does not fit into that category. Circumcisions are, more often then not done on a religious basis which I completely disagree with. As the saying goes "If it isn't broken, don't fix it".
You guys are still arguing over this? Holy shit, even I'm not this fucking inane. Give it up. Stop being insecure about your dicks. The legislation makes sense if it leaves the option for people to do it of their own free will. Some people prefer it.
Just let the kid pick...
If I had a child (who knows), I would most definitely say no to circumcision. I have to live with it, but I don't need to make my child go through with it.
Jeez, you are acting like its really painful to live with.

If I can get a painless procedure done at birth to have a nicer looking cock...
Jeez, you are acting like its really painful to live with.
There's no reason to have your child cut. No reason at all. Painful to live with or not, if there's no reason to do it, then don't. If he really wants to, he can cut his dick later in life.

In fact, all the circumcised people I know weren't done for religious reasons... So, uh, what now? [editline]28th April 2011[/editline]
There's no reason to have your child cut. No reason at all. Painful to live with or not, if there's no reason to do it, then don't.
If I can get a painless procedure done at birth to have a nicer looking cock...
I think no cock looks nicer so lets cut dick off. [editline]29th April 2011[/editline]
Really? Right, you're a medical expert. I forgot, how silly of me.
You really think there are medical benefits worth cutting off the foreskin? I might not be a medical expert, but I can tell you lack logic

It won't change anything later in life the only change is a cut foreskin and losing a bit of sensitivity that's it.
the fact that you are all spending time fighting over dicks is a travesty to heterosexuals everywhere
In the end you can't convince people who have been circumcised that it is better or worse than not because they've never actually had their foreskin and don't know what it is like. It's like 'I have A therefore A is best' [editline]29th April 2011[/editline]
the fact that you are all spending time fighting over dicks is a travesty to heterosexuals everywhere
DICKS ARE A VALUABLE COMODITY.
Lasik eye surgery is A) Painless and B) Allows people to function in society. Circumcision is neither.
Circumcision prevents people from functioning in society?!
Then why do you care if there is no reason? It won't change anything later in life the only change is a cut foreskin and losing a bit of sensitivity that's it.
Then why not cut bits and pieces from ears, lips and other places because these bits will not change anything. Why cut anything? What is wrong with people who want to cut off pieces of human body from babies? Seriously? Foreskin is part of the body like any other organ, it's not meant to be cut off for no reason. Freedom of choice. You don't have a choice when you get cut at birth, which is total bullshit.
I'm not even going to take part in this. But the both look identical erect, you don't have fucking sex with a girl flaccid you morons.
Circumcision prevents people from functioning in society?!
Neither =/= negative of allows

I didn't know you knew everything about everything dick related Johan, I guess that explains why you're still shitting up this thread. Frankly, there are a few medical reasons to get it done, I had mine done at the age of 6, I wish it had been earlier in my life because I remember the pain of it. Do I care? Do I think they should be banned? Do I think cut dicks are better than others? No, no, no. Why do you care? Why do you think it should be banned when it's not a permanent change? Seriously, why the need to fight ovre dicks/
If I can get a painless procedure done at birth to have a nicer looking cock...
then decorate it with flowers or glitter if you are so worried about having a nice looking cock
In the end you can't convince people who have been circumcised that it is better or worse than not because they've never actually had their foreskin and don't know what it is like. It's like 'I have A therefore A is best'
No one's here trying to convince what is better, we just want to stop people from cutting up babies. That way they will know how it feels and if they hate it, they can get rid of it at any time.
well some jews aren't very keen on getting their baby's dick sucked by a rabbi so they've started to abandon it wacky reform jews, they already eat shellfish or pork and deny the existence of god, what's next?
another eighth of a hat they'll be up to a QUARTER of a whole hat how is this acceptable
Really. Really. That's a justification? Well. That's fan-fucking-tastic. I've never used this before but YOU ARE A SHEEEEEEEEP. BAAAAAAAH.
You really don't seem to have a reason NOT to do it. Why not? Just because the baby can't protest? It doesn't care/understand, and forgets about it within a month.
You really don't seem to have a reason NOT to do it. Why not? Just because the baby can't protest? It doesn't care/understand, and forgets about it within a month.
The same reasoning can be applied to raping a baby. The baby won't remember it but that doesn't make it okay.
You really don't seem to have a reason NOT to do it. Why not? Just because the baby can't protest? It doesn't care/understand, and forgets about it within a month.
There is a justification. Because its already there. Why bother removing the foreskin? It has no health side effects providing you actually clean yourself on a regular basis.
You really don't seem to have a reason NOT to do it. Why not? Just because the baby can't protest? It doesn't care/understand, and forgets about it within a month.
Because it reduces sensetivity, is REALLY painful (to the point where the babies pass out) and is just mutilation in heneral.

[editline]29th April 2011[/editline] Was your medical reason something that could have been identified and done at birth?
Why didn't they give enough painkillers? [editline]29th April 2011[/editline] Was your medical reason something that could have been identified and done at birth?
No, it happened because of a cyst that started to grow by my foreskin so they did a standard circumcision to remedy it. And the surgery itself was painless, i was put out for it and woke up quite a while later. It was the next two weeks of having a heavily bandaged with stitches and such. I can imagine why people want a circumcised dick, but unless you get it at birth I don't know why you'd go through it.
