Gawker is pretty much comic book levels of evil at this point.
Now I have to wonder if Gawker is funded by Dr. Doom. "Gawker does as it pleases". But it is as I suspected, they're saying "Aw yeah, we took on Coke and won"
Now I have to wonder if Gawker is funded by Dr. Doom. "Gawker does as it pleases". But it is as I suspected, they're saying "Aw yeah, we took on Coke and won"
Yeah but Doom is competent and has an over the top but likable personality.
I read this article as I drink a nice, mouth-watering Mexican Coca-Cola mmmmmmm the taste of white nationalism is mighty delicious this is effectively libel like this is the closest thing I have ever seen to real, actual libel in a LONG time.
If Coke tried to bring hard libel against them, they'd probably pull clause number six of the Six Defenses on them. "No Injury" Hey, it was just a joke guys! Lighten up! No one really believes in Adolf Cokeler, right? At least the scare quotes destroy any attempt to say it's merely opinion, since it's implicitly a quotation of Coca-Cola Corp.
I think we should just remove Gawker from existence at this point.
Damn, I wanted to make it do the Navy Seal copypasta.
companies should know better than to run any automated social media stuff at this point, it always gets abused
thats why you hire smm ladies and gentlemen
PS this is not a photoshop or text edit
I find this hard to believe and yet I am also not surprised, simply sickened.
why are people upset about this? if it was 4chan i don't think most of you would be complaining [editline]5th February 2015[/editline]
I find this hard to believe and yet I am also not surprised, simply sickened.
get a fucking load of this guy
I find this hard to believe and yet I am also not surprised, simply sickened.
Here is the archived article where it came from: https://archive.today/9k04Y Gawker also accuses Coca-Cola of being a white nationalist organisation in the very same article. They are really setting themselves wide open to get sued to oblivion.
why are people upset about this? if it was 4chan i don't think most of you would be complaining [editline]5th February 2015[/editline] get a fucking load of this guy
If it was just 4chan then it could be blamed on a loose cannon entity. This was done by a news media website, by a specific member of that news media website, who also posted about it on said website. Two completely different situations. [editline]5th February 2015[/editline] gdi Xubs
what is the difference between an influential blog, opinion piece, and "journalism" website and an anonymous image board for four thousand please Gawker isn't just some random assholes from 4chan. Gawker is a company, with a reputation, and they're using their company resources to basically defame popular brands with unfound bull that nobody is buying for a second just for the clickbait bux. I don't get what you can't get about this. This is like MSNBC sabotaging the Fox News ticker and filling it with Neo-Nazi propaganda in some vain attempt to prove a point. Only yeah, maybe not nearly as extreme because the stakes are lower, but still very very very stupid.
he was clearly joking; do you honestly think this random person from gawker believes coke is run by nazis????
then where's the humor, because I'm not laughing
the humor is in how seriously you're trying to take this prank to make it out like gawker is a terrorist organization or something. like I said if this was 4chan you would probably fucking find the humor in it. like if you wanna say fuck gawker then say fuck gawker, don't be disingenuous about it
well this joke they pulled sucks, so fuck Gawker anyway
i agree with the latter part but i think getting coke to accidentally republish mein kampf in ASCII art format is pretty funny still
i agree with the latter part but i think getting coke to accidentally republish mein kampf in ASCII art format is pretty funny still
It turned something well meaning, into a big joke while parading around that a multi-national company has white supremacist goals. If this is a fucking joke, Gawker forgot where the line is and walked off a cliff.
i agree with the latter part but i think getting coke to accidentally republish mein kampf in ASCII art format is pretty funny still
While I don't agree with Coke pulling down the campaign, how the hell are you defending or at least trying to put a positive spin on what Gawker did? For all their sins, a multinational company tried to do something cheerful, which was ruined by a "professional" news outlet. Pretty much why we can't have nice things. [editline]6th February 2015[/editline] I really want to leave a comment on that fucking disgusting excuse for a justification, but I also don't want to go on Gawker, even with adblock.
How can you say No Injury when they have essentially been forced to shut down their ad campaign?
Isn't Gawker against that whole GamerGate thing, which is about harassing innocent people on the internet? Why are they participating in harassment themselves? Isn't spreading anti-Semitic rhetoric in an attempt to make a company withdraw their advertising campaign considered harassment?
Gawker Media has been known to spread lies and to basically fabricate controversy in order to promote themselves and some select people as the only righteous individuals on the internet. It's pretty damn illegal and something should be done about it, which is what gamergate has been advocating for a while.
