I apologize, I thought that you were making that point to argue that men weren't stronger than women
well to nitpick, men have more muscle mass, which means on average they have more physical strength than women.
men can still be weaker than women on an individual basis.
I agree. You go through drastic changes after that age and your ideas on your gender could be one of them.
Yeah because by then no damage has been done
oh wait trying to be a transgender in the most difficult time of your life but not looking like one and everyone knowing that you are actually not the gender you are pretending to be and being constantly ridiculed.
i'm not at all for supporting age, but if you are then 13 should be the minimum age. you can't tell someone what they can and can't do with their body.
Should wait until at least puberty. Who knows what could go wrong.

13 is puberty in the very least. that age has been brought upon by milk
fucking milk

Yes, I know they can be weaker. Really you'd have to be really, really stupid to think there was not one case of this occurring. It is odd, then, that so many people seemed to think I believed that. To quote JohnnyMo1, I believe, "That's not true because I know a few girls who can beat the shit out of me." Or something like that.
What annoyed me was that some people denied men had any advantage at all. Sanius said that misogynist gender roles and a broken society are the reason why men always seem to outperform women at marathons, etc. When I asked if, in a perfect non-misogynist society, men and women would be equal in marathon performance, he believed so. That was ridiculous, I believed.

The only reason that I would argue there to be an "age of consent" for gender reassignment surgery is that it is a lifelong commitment, there is no coming back. The person seeking this surgery needs to be able to have an adequate amount of time to experience life as a man/woman in order to help him/her to become as comfortable as possible with their options, and to make an informed decision. Additionally, the brain continues to undergo pretty drastic chemical and hormonal changes until your early twenties, and so the terrible confliction that a transgendered person feels may lessen as they learn more about themselves and become for comfortable with their role.

For marathon runners, I'd imagine the performances would be similar.
But that's because marathon runners aren't human.
well if you believe that is ridiculous then you'd have to believe that literally the only factor in marathon performance is gender, IE all women run the same speed and all men run the same speed.

There was this small transgendered person at my school. They always made fun of them. I have always felt bad that I have never said anything, but I think doing that takes a lot of courage.

...they don't?
I'm all for transgender folks, but big decisions like this should be only allowed to be made by adults.
...they don't?
yes so if i understand sanius's claim perfectly, if in a non-misogynistic society women were given the same importance and access to training facilities as men, the women could be competitive with the men which i don't think is that outrageous of a claim.

What?
Men have a natural advantage, women must work harder to attain the some ability. So unless we expect all women to DO that extra work, on average, men will always perform better.

Hey, my mom's a marathon runner, and a decent one too for a woman her age!
She lifts weights a LOT, runs every day or she's pissy, and meanwhile, my Dad who doesn't exercise at ALL apart from occasional walks in the woods, could beat her at arm-wrestling any day.

well no we know that it's less of a bar and more of a factor.
the more and more elite of the marathon runners you get the more the difference in strength between the genders become obvious.
so the difference in gender will become clear in literally the quickest and strongest of athletes in the world and that still doesn't mean that hypothetically a woman could not do that extra work.
the lower you go in level the less the genetic difference becomes. for instance the difference in gender becomes miniscule in high-school

That's something which is applicable to most marathon runners.

Comes down to personal genetics.
I carry about 50 pounds of faux German equipment in World War II reenactments but I'm still a fatass, and these are 5 to 6 hours long with lots of running and shit.
Some people have it easy while others have to work at it.

No the bad posts are coming from the other side of the aisle
You know how kids always say that they want to be an astronaut or a pirate when they grow up? Or when they always that they are going to run away, but end up walking back to the house?
That is fucking why they should wait until they are 18 so that they would have time to consider their life choices.
