"The Left" he's describing could be anything from Black Panther-esque people to "bleeding heart" Liberals or Green Party members, or even just a Progressive Democrat. I'm saying that the concept of the group "the left" is a lot less concrete than the Tea Party movement, and if there was such a group, it would be incredibly more diverse. Even if I were to go off what you've just said, about tea bagger being an ideology, then your argument still fails because "the left" would have an incredibly wide range of ideologies.
