If I was suicidal and you called me a cunt and I killed myself because of it, would you think I wasn't being a bitch if I blamed you in my suicide note and expected you to pay my mortgage?
No because it would be my fault. Moral of the story: don't humiliate people because you don't know what they've been through or going through.
If I was suicidal and you called me a cunt and I killed myself because of it, would you think I wasn't being a bitch if I blamed you in my suicide note and expected you to pay my mortgage?
I wouldn't think you were being a bitch because you're clearly sick, and that would be why you acted as you did (as in you're mentally ill so you act like a mentally ill person).
No because it would be my fault. Moral of the story: don't humiliate people because you don't know what they've been through or going through.
Seriously? never ever do prank calls again. never ever do any humor that may embarrass other people because they might kill themselves. I understand what you're saying but you've taken it to an extreme

Especially on an occasion where it's on a subject of matter with the entire world as its audience.

Especially on an occasion where it's on a subject of matter with the entire world as its audience.
The radio hosts couldn't have known it would blow up as much as it did. If anything the media coverage she got after the initial prank was way worse, and focus should lay there rather than on the hosts.
In the letter, which was written to her managers, she refers to the two 2Day FM DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian who posed as the Queen and Prince Charles. "Please accept my apologies. I am truly sorry. Thank you for all your support. I hold the Radio Australians Mel Greig and Michael Christian responsible for this act. Please make them pay my mortgage. I am sorry," she reportedly wrote. Yeah, that's just fucking bullshit.
This suicide note seems weird.
Am I the only one loathing the nurse for taking the blame out on the radio hosts instead of the subsequent media storm ?
lol this thread holy shit Whatever, a loss of a life is still a shame. Guess people will be more wary about prank calls now, I guess.
sometimes i think people don't understand that your the only one that can make yourself do anything.
Guys she was harassed by the British media and called a traitor to the country amongst other things
Source? And btw, all she did was was answer the call and pass it on to another nurse iirc. She didn't reveal any information herself
I don't blame the DJ's, I blame the news. It was blown completely out of proportion; it's duly noted that there HAD to be some underlying issues with her to begin with.
That's exactly what it is. Suicide is cowardess. It's the easy solution to every problem
You've never been suicidal have you. Your comment of
but its pretty much fact that almost everyone goes through a hard life, she was just too feeble to deal with it.
Is so fucking ignorant it hurts. People have different levels of being able to cope, and when they reach the limit, they sometimes contemplate and sometimes do commit suicide, not because they see it as an easy way out, but it often seems like the only or best way out. See, I often contemplate suicide, know that at some point, I am going to do it, not as a cry for attention but as a final soloution to escape the suffering I go through daily, it's not even a point of emotion for me, but rather one of practicality, and a viewpoint I see rather objectively. When I finally reach my limit and can't stand how I suffer anymore, I will take myself out of the picture, because despite all the avenues I've been down towards lowering my suffering, that is the only way to once and for all stop the suffering I go through. Oh and to add onto that, I'm genetically inclined towards depression, but the funny thing is, thats nothing compared to what else I suffer with. Also, just so you know the full facts, what I suffer from, daily, is intense pain, lessened mobility and all around just pain, every single day. To put it in perspective, a while back I yanked out a problem tooth i had with a pair of pliers (zero anasthetic), the tooth wasn't even loose, so I really had to work hard to pull it out, and not once did I wince, or react or utter a single sound in response to the pain of tearing out my own tooth.
maybe the suicide note is her pranking them back
That's exactly what it is. Suicide is cowardess. It's the easy solution to every problem
what a fucking pathetic thing to say honestly. i really just want you to know that any time you say suicide is cowardly (and in a lot of cases "selfish") you're giving yourself away as someone who is completely incapable of sympathy and who has the emotional depth of a bucket. suicide is driven by millions of factors and emotions, to say everyone that has committed suicide is a coward is ridiculously insulting and moronic. you're generalizing millions of people from different lives and different circumstances, some of which may have diagnosable disorders that contribute to the decision, many of which may be from abusive households and communities where there's no escape. to say suicide is "cowardly" is to admit you've never been in a truly difficult situation in your life. calling your own mother "feeble" for wanting to commit suicide because she has severe psychological issues? what the fuck??
I dont want to live in a world without prank calls. If it means sacrificing a few persons with shredded nerves, so be it.
According to some posts in here she on pills and pretty unstable. Add the humiliation by media and her colleagues and it may drive a person like her into suicide. Selfish? Yeah probably. Calling her a bitch and having no sympathies for her? Nah, I can't.
Why even bother appeasing the idiots in this thread Having mental problems isn't selfish [editline]28th April 2013[/editline]
That's exactly what it is. Suicide is cowardess. It's the easy solution to every problem
agonizing deliberation that people struggle with for years, if not decades = easy decision
Why not? Isn't like they can complain.
how low did you go in order to say something as stupid and degrading as this stop acting like someone who has the emotional maturity of a bag of stale potato chips, you're amazingly offensive
I don't understand why people are saying this woman is a bitch. People need to realise that this woman was under a lot of fucking stress and emotion and had no time to "be nice".
I don't agree (in the slightest) with the "bitch" comments, but I'd say the line of reasoning is that she's singling out these 2 people for whatever reason when they had nothing to do with it. If anybody drove her to suicide it's "the media", they're the ones who keep blaming her for some reason.

Just imagine for a moment: the most important patient of your life is in your care and you get a phone call. Oh, it's from the relatives of the most important patient of your life. It's the god-saved Queen on the other end, you have no time to skepticism and thanks to the phone speaker quality, you can't tell it's a fraud. You wake up the next morning and the ENTIRE WORLD is laughing at you. You lose all your credibility and respect, and they're still laughing and are showing no signs of stopping. A prank call doesn't end your life, but when you and your unfortunate circumstances are ridiculed globally, it sure as hell would feel like it.
Yeah, what the fuck is up today, Facepunch? This dead "bitch" left behind two children that now has no mother. She got humiliated in public, and most likely already got mental problems. I agree, it's wrong to blame the prank callers. But this woman is now dead. You guys are unbelievable.
It's like a contest to see who can be the edgiest today.

The fact that the media hounded her for something another nurse did is the problem.
It's like a contest to see who can be the edgiest today.
if edgy means blatantly announcing to the world how ignorant and sheltered you are then it's spot on
lol what a slut! i bet she friendzoned somebody too!
if edgy means blatantly announcing to the world how ignorant and sheltered you are then it's spot on
Nah, it's more the people who are going, "Look how cool I am, calling a dead girl a bitch, that'll show 'em!"
How was she working in a hospital and not one person noticed picked up she was in this mental state? [editline]29th April 2013[/editline]
I hold the Radio Australians Mel Greig and Michael Christian responsible for this act. Please make them pay my mortgage. I am sorry
Although I can't imagine the mental state she was in, this is so fucking infuriating.
No sympathy for the nurse whatsoever.
Well I sure as hell don't have sympathy for the radio hosts
i find it rather suspicous that these "notes" were finally found like what 3-4 months after the fact.... i know its tragic, but im still not convinced these dj's are the real cause for her suicide, nobody takes their job that seriously, she obviously had something else wrong in her life. its just something about this whole ordeal smells fishy and its not because of the fish n chips... also the DJs have already created a trust of 500,000$ for both of her children, all that out of their own will, i can't believe the family is actually taking them to court still, what more do they want? do they want to send these dj's to jail? thats not going to help anybody this is just a case where the people should just drop it, because nobody is really at fault here, she just was depressed and killed herself, she had tried to kill herself multiple times, putting two innocent djs from half a world away in jail is not going to solve anything
