Yeah but haven't almost all of their games otherwise been on, their newest games (LA Noire, Max Payne 3) are on all platforms or at least PC.

Was from a different division of Rockstar
One that hasn't ported one of their games to PC since Midnight Club II
I am quoting my post on another thread awhile ago.
It is also worth mentioning [about GTA V not coming to PC] that this isn't some guy going "Oh they'll release it, trust me, you'll see, yeah definitely you'll see, YOU'LL ALL SEE!"
This isn't that, it is statistically abnormal for Rockstar to not release the game on PC. It is their biggest franchise. This is also continuing Rockstar's trend of releasing PC versions of their games months after they hit consoles.
GTA 3 came out Oct 2001 for PS2, and May 2002 for Windows.
GTA VC came out Oct 2002 for PS2, and May 2003 for Windows.
GTA SA came out Oct 2004 for PS2, and June 2005 for Windows.
GTA IV came out April 2008 for PS3/360, and December 2008 for Windows.
Hell, even some of Rockstar's non-GTA franchises.
Manhunt came out November 2003 for PS2, and April 2004 for Windows.
Manhunt 2 came out October 2007 for PS2, and October 2009 for Windows.
Bully came out October 2006 for PS2, and October 2008 for Windows.
LA Noire came out May 2011 for PS3/360 and November 2011 for Windows.
Max Payne 3 came out May 2012 for PS3/360, and June 2012 for Windows.
Think Red Dead Redemption was a bad sign of no PC ports in the future? Red Dead Redemption didn't get a PC port because of the porting issues like MoarToast mentioned ["the engine was held together with twigs"], as well as the game's predecessor (Red Dead Revolver) also being a console exclusive. Notice anything else about that list? Rockstar is working on their promise, on average, to make the release time-frame between console and PC releases of their games smaller.
I just don't understand why people think like this. The evidence is right there in front of you, so you must be completely idiotic if you think they're not making a port just because they haven't announced it yet. You people did the exact same thing with GTA IV was coming out. They didn't announce it initially at first, but then it came out for PC. I can't speak for how GTA V is going to run on PC, but considering GTA IV was Rockstar's first time with the engine on an open world game and also their first time using Euphoria, they had a tough time with it. Rockstar Toronto also did the PC port for GTA IV. Guess what? Rockstar Vancouver merged with them, and are no longer doing any PC ports of Rockstar titles by themselves. Like Max Payne 3, GTA V is being developed by every single Rockstar branch. This is partially why Max Payne 3 is so damn polished. To be fair, it's also a smaller and linear game compared to GTA, but I will be damned if anybody says Max Payne 3 isn't optimized. Getting back to RAGE, their game engine, they've also had many years to experiment and practice with optimizing and making games with it. The past 6 years since GTA IV came out, infact.
Think with your noggin once and awhile, people.

Was from a different division of Rockstar

Agreed. The only two studios (North and Toronto) that had experience porting RAGE to PC were already working on GTAV and Max Payne 3 respectively.
With that said, no games have been announced from Rockstar Toronto as of late. This could potentially mean they are poised to do a PC port. These are the same guys that ported GTAIV and EFLC to PC with Rockstar North's help.
Even if we get GTA V on PC, it'll probably be optimized just as bad at IV.
Break out your Nvidia Titan's for the High Graphics setting everybody!
No I'm pretty sure they've learned from their mistakes from 4 and won't be repeating the same unoptimized mistakes.
This happens with games constantly, it's happened at least 3 times so far with gta v alone.

i actually highly highly doubt that because last time the game was given to Rockstar Vancouver/toronto for a port, this time around they would do it in house using one of their major studios for such a large title.
Guess it's not really toxx, because I'm not gunna get banned, just going to shave my head.
Thats not how the toxx works. If it's never released for PC you must shave your hair and prove it to us or get permabanned. that's a toxx clause.
Also i'm now willing to bet money that it will not launch on PC, it simply won't launch on pc. Not denying that it will come to pc, we all know EVENTUALLY it will, but it's not releasing.

i don't think he can toxx this because it's not really time sensitive. Because he's saying hell shave his head if it doesn't come to pc and nothing else specific, he needs to specify a date that it will be announced by otherwise he can just keep putting it off until rockstar makes a confirmed "we will never port this to pc" statement.
So Milk, specify a date it must be done by if you're so sure, like a year.

RDR doesn't have any demand for the PC anymore, besides I forgot about that game when LA Noire was released for PC and came bundled with all the DLC for free (well in what i got).

Uhh R* has been going strong at PC optimization ever since what happened with GTA4, MP3 and LA Noire are good examples of this.
And for the other "But GWFL", R* hasn't touched that shit in ever because they favour Social Club over it (and i think steamworks??)
My interest in GTA V possibly went up. :v:

I doubt GTA V will be as bad as GTA IV on PC. I mean Max Payne 3 for PC ran beautifully and was optimized extremely well. I ran med/low on my old 5770. It would be stupid for Rockstar not to use that port or improve somehow.
How is potentially confirmed is any different from a rumor?

Didnt Rockstar Vancouver do MP3? That PC edition was damn near perfect.
So can anyone explain to me why people think GTA V won't see a PC release?
red dead redemption
I wish this game would come to PC.
Didnt Rockstar Vancouver do MP3? That PC edition was damn near perfect.
My computer that struggles to run Battlefield 3 ran Max Payne 3 almost perfectly on high settings. I don't know what kind of black magic Rockstar did to make a game look so good and run so well, but other companies should do the same.

la noire wasn't made by rockstar, it was just published by them. also it was a fucking AWFUL port, oh my god you don't even understand
max payne 3 was phenomenal port, though

I hate what gaming news has become. Speculation and guessing being released as news. "Potentially confirmed" is already an oxymoron.

I never had one problem with LA noire on my computer, everything ran smoothly and it looked great
Rockstar, fuck you, you haven't released RDR on PC yet so I aint buying a thing from you till you do.
red dead redemption
Not even developed by R* North, not even considered in the GTA Franchise obviously, doesn't mean it GTA V won't come for pc. It will.

Well that's some blissful ignorance right there.
Red Dead Redemption and its DLC completely blows LA Noire out of the water and then some.
Best game to ever carry the Rockstar logo imo.
So can anyone explain to me why people think GTA V won't see a PC release?
I'm worried because they're not launching it on next gen consoles, which I think is very strange since they're coming out so soon and it would be enormously beneficial for them to port it to both of them. so that to me means they're not exactly thinking in the same terms they have in the past. also, I don't understand why they would just say ''it's a possibility'' then announce a PC version at the last second, and make it look like PC was a side thought, potentially harming PC sales. the fact that they didn't release red redemption, the game I consider to be the best of all time, on PC, considering the ridiculous success it would have had also confuses me.
RDR's case has already been explained countless times. It would have been a nightmare to port and the potential playerbase was thought to be too small, considering Red Dead Revolver wasn't on PC.

I understand there would have been technical issues, but rockstar is not stupid enough to think the first red dead had anything to do with RDR's success. on consoles, I would estimate that about 2% of everyone who bought red dead redemption have played red dead revolver. probably about 20% even know it exists. the payoff of having it on PC would have been well worth whatever problems they would have faced, and if I know that then obviously rockstar knows that too.
