• EA executive responds to “worst company” poll: “We owe gamers better performance.”

Rudolph from North Korea :v: You'd think EA could afford to pay people who are actually remotely competent at spamming comments or programming bots to do it.
Aye Origin has a ton of people registered to it, for the simple reason that you can't fucking play an EA game on PC without one, it's not competitive, it's fucking forced and their "sales" are never more than £5 off. I will never ever buy another game affiliated to EA after getting Dead Space 3 and needing to deal with their incompetent, insufferable, knuckle dragging retard customer support team, after they completely fucked up just about everything they could with my online order. At first I was unable to play anything except single player leading to getting the game refunded and rebought and needing to open 7 fucking cases with the support team to get it fixed before the 8th person FINALLY UNDERSTOOD THE FUCKING PROBLEM AND FIXED IT WITHIN TWO MINUTES. They are legitimately the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with, I would rather belt sand my nipples than have to deal with their support team again.

EA is getting a ton of flak for their mistakes and they try to defend themselves and admit those mistakes, and everyone gets angrier. They're not nearly the worst company on that list yet they're winning because the vocal minority (a bunch of children who care more about arguing than they care about actual games) is mad they had to wait a week to play a videogame. EA is that magical combination of greedy and incompetent that makes them much, much worse if they were merely greedy or incompetent. That's why people hate them. The fact that they stoop to such low and horrible money grabbing tactics and then outright fail at what they're being paid to do. The fact that the entire company is one giant clusterfuck of PR blunders. This article just completely highlights the fact that they don't realize all of the things they're doing wrong. The fact that they think that people love Origin because they were forced to install it is a stunning example of how far EA's management's head is up their asses.
EA is getting a ton of flak for their mistakes and they try to defend themselves and admit those mistakes, and everyone gets angrier.
That's because they flat out say that the shit everyone hates them for doing is completely fucking fine, imply that everyone who hates EA is a homophobe, and the only mistake they'll admit to doing is the most outright blatant fuckups like the Sim City server failures. For fucks sake the article starts with a sentence that basically means "We only have so many haters because of how awesome we are"
EA is like Disney. Only thinking of profit over quality
so the system that determines whether or not I have the right to play the digital game that I paid for by requiring me to be online constantly, otherwise I do not have the right to play the game, is not a form of digital rights management thank god EA was there to show me the light. before I was a hateful homophobe that only bashed EA because I hate gay babies, but now I see that they truly are the benevolent saviors of gaming brb going to play my survival horror third person shooter where I have unlimited ammunition, a cover system, and the option to pay money to add more glowing bits to my gun in a singleplayer game thank you john ravioli
EA did do a sale of Battlefield 2142 recently,(took it from £20 to £10) but that's only because the servers are run by Gamespy (Who are shutting down) and will soon be unavailable, so you are essentially paying £10 for a game that can run less than half of the multiplayer modes with incompetent bots. Good sale EA! Totally worth it! Seems like very time EA do a sale of a game its either unplayable, terrible or both.

Valve forces players to install Steam to play Valve games, Ubisoft forces players to install Uplay, and many other games are distributed by other software. It's more competitive than letting Valve have a monopoly over digital distribution of games and allowing them to take a large portion of the profits.
holy shit what a fucking scumbag. he's literally using their "support" of the LGBT community to say "if you hate us you're a homophobe!". what a sneaky, manipulative asshole.
No you dumbass.
Didn't they have bots fill comments with support on their page announcing their pledge to LGBT friendliness? I remember one of the comments was named like, Jim from North Korea. [editline]5th April 2013[/editline] found it [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/WKcB2.jpg[/img_thumb]
Roland from Poland. Also, what if this is just a really elaborate strategy by some other people to make EA look bad? I know it's a bit conspiratorial, but it would be a great way of making EA look bad. Also, I feel that if EA wanted to do something like this, they would've been more careful and not have the same comments come from different users, or have a large number of them come from African countries, or North Korea.
I think it's more the principle of the thing. Whatever Valve may have been some years ago, it's the best-loved company in video gaming today, and for very good reason. Its priority is and always has been making innovative, enjoyable games that not only push the boundaries of what is possible, but also create entirely new genres. Take Portal, for instance. Their Source engine is a modder's paradise, and still holds up quite well even against newer game engines. What's EA, by comparison? In recent years, rather than evolving into a more benign company, they've gotten greedier and greedier, using the most petty tactics they can to rake in cash, and they've started making all their games deliberately unmoddable. Community-created content? Bah. Let's make them pay exorbitantly for substandard, half-assed additions.
Jim Sterling said it right. EA had the easiest job to do which was to be better then Activision and they flunked it on an epic scale. They deserve what they get for screwing up that.
Didnt EA have a really large sale with most of the games pretty much steals not so long ago?
Yeah, that, and they also adapt their store for different countries, and hold sales on traditional holidays. Was great, actually.

I wish EA would put their games on Steam and give their games workshop support etc. I don't care that Valve's games are Steam exclusive. If Valve gave me much reason to be pissed at them then I'd be pissed. I was mad when L4D2 was announced. After Spore, CnC 4, DA2, Battlefield 3, SWTOR, and ME3 (I didn't even bother with SC4 or DS3) all my cares are gone until they change their strategy entirely. And if they can't change because of shareholders then I'll just continue to withhold my money. It's not like they'll miss my money anyways when they've got 10 people to fill my place. :V
Bingo. And EA isn't. [editline]5th April 2013[/editline] And that is why EA can never hold a candle to Valve.
the fuck did that prove like really, there are plenty of awesome public companies too and plenty of shitty private ones
14 year olds playing F2P with no remote sense of competitiveness is definitely not something you call success, this proves EA is all about financials.
EA the Worst Company in America
Aww no their not...
EA the Worst Company in The World
Thats better
Many continue to claim the Always-On function in SimCity is a DRM scheme. It’s not. People still want to argue about it. We can’t be any clearer—it’s not. Period.
Yeah if you say so buddy but it's been proven the game can work off- banned
How is shit like monsanto not winning this though?
Because the poll results are determined largely by internet nerds, so it's going to be skewed to anything that affects them personally rather than the horrendously more evil Monsanto, only really experienced by farmers.
Ok EA. My counter-point is a simple one. SimCity data management.
If I was American I would have chosen a bank.
