I'd buy both RCT and TA and make a real time strategy game where you build amusement park bases. Your rides attract more people(units) which you can use to build more rides with. Both sides are competing for the same limited units, so your park has to be working good. Meanwhile you build special units in your attractions, based on how popular they are, and send them out to attack(ie sabotage) your opponent's park.
Imagine units bringing elaborate rollercoasters crashing down as the riders scream in terror, while the people on the ground get squashed in bloody smears by tons of virtual steel and wood beams raining down on them!
Or you could just send in a spy unit to plug up all the toilets in your opponents restrooms, that should do just as well.
Here's, in my opinion, what RCT 1 and 2 really deserved:
● HD Resolution support.
● Fullscreen and windowed mode.
● UI Scaling.
● An additional zoom level or more (similar to what OpenTTD did to TTD)
● Tools that would allow for click'n'drag building. Example of building a longer fence or hedge along a path.
● Tools that would allow for copy/paste of scenery buildings, trees and gardens.
● A mode for when manipulation the ground, it would automatically make slopes instead of squared edges you'd otherwise have to slope yourself, every corner or side individually.
● Maybe a click mode when moving ground up or down instead of having to drag it every time.
● A much needed improved AI. The AI would get lost less frequently, and would have much better pathfinding. For example, not getting stuck on a pathway area that's wider than one unit.
● A improved and better use of the path in general. Instead of 500 guests walking down a single line on a pathway, perhaps make them spread out in two, three, four or five lines across a path, and much more when ever wider path.
... Suddenly, i feel the urge to take out a huge loan...
lets make an fp fund to buy rct
I'll buy the assets for just wooden rollercoasters.
Would be awesome if the openTTD team had enough to buy the RCT rights. OTTD is one of the most well made games (and possibly open source project) I have ever seen.
I hope someone picks up TD and it makes it good. TDU2 was an abomination and the TDU1 servers have been shut down.
TDU2 wasn't that bad. It had a lot of stupid gimmicks and DLC bollocks and stuff, and the original was better in most ways, but it was still great for kicking back and unwinding by driving around the beaches of Ibiza, or getting really fucked up drunk and crashing your multimillion dollar Bugatti Veyron into hapless commuters at over 300kph while trying to ramp yourself off a bump in the highway.
I really hope someone good picks up Test Drive and we get a well done TDU3. A good Test Drive Unlimited game with Oculus Rift support would be fucking incredible.

I need $300 for the Dev Kit, that looks like fun.
Oh wow, the TA IP up for sale after so so so long.
The TA ip has proven useless. There is nothing in TA that you can't make better in your own IP (like PA for example)
IPs are different than mechanics of a game.

The code is pretty horrible though... there's such a lack of encapsulation and there's enum arithmetic everywhere

Isn't it based of reverse engineering the original transport deluxe games?
I imagine it would be awesome with this track.

How many people are turned into Flat Stanley after the ride?
Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2!? And RTC!? Whaaaaat!? Some of my favorite games, I wish I had a few million
Whoever buys the license should release Rollercoaster Tycoon HD!
I would buy the RCT name. Make a new game just called Roller Coaster Tycoon.
Always online, limited space to build things (compared to the last games), awful pathing for the guests and make it buggy so that toilets would always be out of order.
Oh wow, the TA IP up for sale after so so so long.

That's my point. You don't need the TA name to make money.
TA has a shit story, no characters. Whats the point in that IP besides the name?
You mean aside from that it was fucking amazing and the IP would draw tons of fans of the franchise if a new one was developed?
I'd buy GarryCoaster if given the opportunity.
Welcome to MR GARRY'S WILD RIDE.

whathefu-
its a game about 2 races of robots blowing the shit out of each other. They added a meager attempt at a story so that it wasn't literally just 2 races of robots blowing the shit out of each other.
Its like in supcom, yeah okay three races black sun aliens who cares 6v6 online multiplayer go
[editline]24th May 2013[/editline]
I mean, the story for PA?
"the war has gone of for so long, not even the robots know why they're fighting anymore. Military tech is so advanced that there is no deviation in available technology, everyone gets the same units, same unit stats. Only difference is the commander and how you use them. with that being said, 20 vs 20, 10 planet solar system, binary star, asteroid belts, last team standing wins go"

in saying all of this I can kinda see your point. But WHO CARES BUY IT ANYWAY
i want a HD version of RCT on steam with workshop support like age of empires did

don't forget to only release 5 coasters with the £40+ game and then release the other 20 coasters at £5 each
i want a HD version of RCT on steam with workshop support like age of empires did
Give me a scenario editor where I can upload scenarios to the Steam workshop and we have a perfect game.
I hope someone picks up Test Drive series and makes a TDU3 more in sync with the first one...
And Rollercoaster Tycoon I hope it doesn't get snatched up by EA

Don't even mention the possibility!
Coaster riding will be DLC as will paths :)
I'll take it!
[editline]25th May 2013[/editline]
Can you drop it to like 20 bucks?
Here's to hoping someone will create a new and marvellous RCT.
2D isometric please though. Never liked the 3D ones.

Chris Sawyer is going to blow up if you give it mod support.

If we're going to do the always online thing, might as well use the Kinect.
If you raise your arms, the people on the ride do the same, YAY! If you stand up, the people on the ride do the same, YAY until they go through an area with lower clearance and their head gets lopped off. If you lean forward the riders puke. If you do that on an uphill section, the game physics make the vomit splatter the people sitting behind the puker. The possibilities are endless.
I'm super psyched at the possibility of a new RCT.

The 2D ones just had a memorable artstyle and more simplified gameplay, I loved that.
