What I mean is that it's not the first city to hop into my mind when I think of "World's Top Cities".
No love for chicago
New York city is mystifying. I'm sorry, but i've been broke forever and I still have appreciation for it. (I live in long island) Going to New York city will guarantee an experience not found in other cities around the world. It has nothing to do with stereotypes. Other cities will provide experiences as well. I'm sure they do. The only other cities i've ever been to are Tokyo and Detroit, so I don't know what I would expect. I'm sure going to Istanbul or Hong Kong would be amazing as well, just in a different way. I'm not saying NYC is the best, or that it's even great, but you have to remove the whole 'money or visiting' aspect and just appreciate it for everything that it is. Just like the rest of the cities on this list.
and Hawaii is literally the best place to go if you like beach weather and oceans. 100% factually true no debate gtfo.
I went to Paris once. It was dirty and everyone was rude. People overrate that rusty telephone pylon. How is that #3?!
I saw people pissing every but the ham and chesse creeps where nice.
Sydney is a great place to be. That is, if you can stand the heat around this time of the year.
London is proper shit. Would rather go to Somalia.
What's the difference?
I feel out of place in this thread, as I agree with the rankings to some degree; I've been to several of those cities, and had the money to enjoy what they had to offer. I guess you guys should look on the other side of things, where these large cities tend to have a wider range of things to do and enjoy compared to smaller cities. Eg, a larger city would have a larger range of cheap bars, and also high end ones for those that could afford it. In contrast, a smaller city wouldn't have as much selection.
Bullshit list. For the regular, common tourist, he'd be way better off and have a nicer vacation in cities of the Basque Country, West Coast France(Rennes, Nantes etc.), Italy South of Rome, Sardinia, Balearic Isles, Central-East Europe(Poland,Czech Rep. , former East Germany& Bavaria, etc) for Europe, and for N. America: Wisconsin, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Carolinas, Acapulco, Cancun, Nova Scotia etc.
Where's Austin and Dallas?? They're both colossal shitholes full of pretentious and rude hipsters, they'd be perfect for this list!

i've only been to new york city once for like 5 hours max and i can't stand it simply because american movies treat it like the center of the fucking universe. 9 times out of 10 if a movie is in a big american city, it's new york city. at least they have good pizza, unlike chicago with their goddamn casserole. (dont worry chicago you're still rad)

The only good bit about London is the museums and other old stuff
New York? no. I'm from upstate New York (Yes, that exists!) and i've been through New York city a fair amount of times. it's a shithole. I mean, yeah there's some nice people, but it's dirty, smells, and everyone there tries to be the alpha male of the road. There's a lot nicer cities that could be on the top 3.
I'd rather eat a casserole then a greasy crepe.
hey commie that grease you're whining about is the sweat of the american spirit
I think the issue with New York is that its too common in movies, and they tend to make it sound like a fucking amazing place in the movies, and hence people will think its this amazing place. Like how everyone wants to go to times square. WTF is so amazing about times square? Its literally just a square.

Pft, simpletons.
New York, London and Paris could be giant craters filled with bones and rubble and they'd still be on top ten lists just out of reflex and stereotypes.
tbh I still think New York City is still pretty fantastic
A city like Praque is infinitely a better city then those typical picked places.
A real shame budapest isn't on the list as well.
Where's Austin and Dallas?? They're both colossal shitholes full of pretentious and rude hipsters, they'd be perfect for this list!
yeah nah never heard of austin but it sounds pretty bad
Can't say anything for the other cities, but I feel like most people that visit NYC haven't really "experienced" the city per se - I lived there for a summer and it really is an awesome place to live. Going to Times Square and the various tourist hot spots is a really bad way to get a taste for the area, in fact, everyone I know that lives in the city hates stepping foot in those places. So much culture and endless fun in that city. I can see why people still rate it so highly after living there myself.
Vancouver, B.C. Austin, Texas San Fransisco, CA Tokyo, Japan Lucerne, Switzerland Munich, Germany Queenstown, NZ Sydney, AUS These are all cities off the top of my head which I would rather go than those top 3
While I'd like to check out Paris eventually, I'd really like to see Cannes.
Paris definitly is dirty, but there's so much wonders to see and do there. It isn't just about the Eiffel Tower and the Champs d'Elysée. :v: New York and London deserve their rank too.
