the topic of physgun models was brought up in the discord and it made me want to make this concept in sketchup today, posting so it isn't lost in the void
first time modelling so the model is nasty from the inside, so just a concept
I like the first one most, the others look like they could be a gun or flamethrower.
Very impressive work.
I favor the first one of the three for the fact that it resembles the physgun the most, but other versions don't look too shabby either.
Thanks! also just made this version, tried to make it seem more like a tool than a weapon, hopefully it matches more with what an 'industrial' physgun would look like
The thing I'm most pleased with is the fact that it still looks like a classic physgun, with the side handle, the pressure gauge and the general drunk rhino shape to it, which is very hard to pull off.
I know I don't have a real place here, but I'd like to state my opinion. I feel like your concepts (although amazing) are boxy, so I made this. (It will require custom animations or the physgun animations to be altered)
The above view shows what the view model could look like.
I had an idea to make it sort of like the Physgun from GMod, using alien stuff to make it. But it has this feel like it was made on earth, like it could be made in your garage. Now, the blue light can be altered depending on the setting specified in the player model section (If that's implemented)
The above view shows what it would look like when it is activated (I can't be bothered to animate it) Works just the same as the physgun.
This is what it looks like from the front, needs a bit of work.
At the moment, there are no materials because I tried to add some, but I couldn't find good textures for what I was fitting. My main drive was that this was home made, but powered with batteries and the beam made with lenses. I also had the idea that the crystal made the physgun hover when there are organic materials touching the holding ring, but when it is dropped it falls to the ground and the crystal grows dark, just a neat idea I guess. This is just my opinion.
The handle looks weird, but that just might be me, nice work anyways!
Looks pretty good, just need the detail added to it
Tbh it has an excellent shape but the best thing about the gravity gun was its rugged home-lab-made feeling
the half-life props in GMod helped create a sort of atmosphere that was unique and exciting. The gmod toolgun especially complimented it.
I'd love to see a really beat down scrapyard version of this.
Honestly, I think I like that first version the most out of all of them with the horns.
Maybe the model should change color to be whatever color you have the beam set to.
