I think they should just upgrade the servers, adding beta keys would probably kill off half of their fan base. The problem with the keys is that everybody playing it wants one but doesn't care if anyone else wants one.
There are 500 people on. That's insane.
Wait. They should just allow the user to host servers. That would take a huge load of their shoulders.
That's why we need beta keys:

That's already happening. Loads of people are signing up to be able to ask their questions / post their bugs here, since these are the official "forums" for the game.
