I think garry just miiiiiight be sarcastic, there. Just going on a hunch.

Which is why i find it funny, good show garry!
I am assuming that these will be optional to buy on the steam store. They will be sold by players, for prolly 0.03c as there will be a lot of them. It's more to carry your inventory around servers.
Server admins can turn it off as well it seems...
Don't know what the crying is about.

please don't link to the definition of a word or those 3 dudes will start another 8 pages arguing over the word's origin, how to properly structure a sarcastic comment, and acceptable uses.

What are you talking about man? I killed amost two days worth of time at work getting a guy to debate me about the word satisfied...and by the looks of it, not too much other dicussion is occuring in this thread so....the previous talk of the prints was pretty much dried up by that point anyways.

I like the fact they can and hopefully the will restrict it to an in-game mechanic. I hope they keep the mechnic completely within the games economy and not interject a cash trasaction.
On another note, even though people do not like micro-trasactions in games, I do not think its "the developers fucking the consumer" as Gary or the people bitching thinks it is, its more about games becoming over-comercialized at a cost of enjoyable gameplay. If Gary decided to make it "pay-to-win" he's not "fucking" anyone, he's more or less selling out the game in the interest of buisness which, if buisness is priorty, (which is not a bad thing as its seems improbable you'd get games made with out it being the buisness) it may be the only way Rust statys viable over the long-term, way past development.

You fool, do you know what you've started?! Now it's gonna be another 4 days before anyone can get him to shut up.

Three...only three working days this week.
I'm actually wondering if they broke a record for longest running argument on a forum thread or am I blissfully unaware how much this goes on?
Had some time to think on my drive home. My thoughts have changed somewhat, although i still feel that selling recipes is essentially a bad idea.

I would support something like this absolutely.
FINALLY someone gets it. While I was inclined to disagree with your post after the first couple of paragraphs, I'm glad I read it after all.
Warning: my opinion / interpretation of facts ahead:
What garry and co. are trying to implement is a system pretty much like TF2 or Dota 2. Everyone would still have access to essential core items, be it the current basic tools and weapons, rocket launcher, C4 (if it comes to it), and that metal chestplates etc, along with some basic clothing. No core gameplay would be dependant on spending extra cash for blueprints. Of course the community would feel backstabbed if facepunch did this!
The micro-transactions are for rare, COSMETIC items, I dare say. Just like a polka-dot female dress you can wear for purely aesthetic purposes, or have the option to cover your naked body in dirt and leaves (makeshift "clothes"), or craft a military camo clothes set, or simply use a white sock on your head, you name it. The possibilities are ENDLESS and it will pretty much be up to the community to keep this going, just like in TF2/D2.
And YES, I do think the new, rare, cosmetic items will be droppable in-game, but only for a certain amount of time before they become obsolete. A large number of players will have obtained the blueprints by then, and new blueprints will replace the old as rare, special cosmetic drops. Surplus blueprints will be traded on the market and their value will be proportional to the desire of the community to be able to craft and wear those items. And yes, you can always get one of those items from your friend who happened to find or purchase the blueprint before you did.
So let's say you don't play for a couple of months and pass on a few new cosmetic items here and there. Why not purchase it for 10-30 cents on the market? If you're gonna have fun running around with a horse-face mask, or sunglasses, or a full set douchebag costume, why not spend the equivalent of spare change you'd give to a beggar at the market??
You: I am satisfied with rust.
Me: They are not developing it anymore, its has all the updates it is ever going to get.
You: Well, that sucks.
Me: Are you satisfied with rust?
You: No.
Me: Yes you are, you said you are satisfied. You must be satisfied becasue you said you are satisfied. How can you not be satisfied? Rust provided you with satisfying expereince, you must be satisfied.
You: blah blah blah.

Your next post will have all the qualifications that you think have nothing to do with your statement. Do you feel like a fool now? I fully expect another contortion of logic to explain away this rather convincing example of your ignorance and/or bullshit.

brand new thread on this topic if you dont like this one. No need for "really".
I don’t have to go to a new thread just because you and the other guy hijacked this one… so you can basically blow me.
Everyone is tired of you and the other guy spamming and acting like a smartass know-it-all. It’s boring and kind of pathetic and reminds me of a snotty kid having an elementary school fight about whose cock is bigger and not the profound, mature and logical conversation you think you are having … so there you go…
Now feel free to bore me to death with a witty, extremely long and devastatingly “logical” response of yours ;-)

There is a private messaging system by the way. Why not battle it out there?

True, but they probably don't because then people wouldn’t see how “smart” they are and how “good” they are at proving their points xDD
Anyway… I would be happy if we could all return to the original post.
Its been four days since that stuff was giong on, if thats all you can comment on in the four days since then I suspect you had nothing of value to add in the first place and you are only annoyed that people were dicussing something that was of no interest to you. You want it to go away but keep bringing it up...four days later? You want the thread to go back on topic so four days later you bring it up again....
