Searched around and can't find much help on this. I can't find any servers when I launch the game in administrator mode and if I don't launch the game in admin mode I find servers but I can't use my game pad.
Any ideas?
Are you launching from Steam, or the exe? And if the latter, what exe are you launching?
When I launch from steam, it doesn't run administrator mode, so I run the Rustclient.exe and the Rust.exe located in D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rust, same issue with both executables.
Well to be specific, if I run the admin mode with Rust.exe I can't use my game pad but I get a server list. If I run Rustclient.exe in admin mode I can use my game pad but can't get any servers to show up.
Launching Rust from RustClient.exe bypasses loading EAC, and that hides all secured servers, so, yeah, that will happen. If you're using Xpadder or another gamepad utility, it's blocked by EAC's anti-macro capabilities.
I don't understand why you'd want to play an fps with a gamepad to begin with, given that you don't get any kind of aim assist in Rust, but right now external gamepad utilities don't work.

You misunderstand what a gamepad is I think, when I say gamepad I mean like the G17 and Razer orbweaver. So what I simply can't use any of my peripherals because the company is too lazy to implement some good anticheat software? My G19 has macro keys and my razer mouse has macro keys, so what I just can't use these? Even though I can in nearly every other game?
Right. This needs to be addressed.

This is a gamepad.

EAC's anticheat blocks macroing utilities. That's the end of the argument. If you can't use your peripherals because they cannot function at all without special software (that inherently includes macro capability), EAC's not punching a hole in their security for you.

Seriously? "Special software" that is included with nearly every gaming product released in the last 10 years. No other company needs to be so intrusive to stop cheaters, what makes this company so special?

It's quite simple, I am not looking to cheat, I just want to use my peripherals that I have been using in games for quite a long time.

So doing some tests, my G19 keyboard macro software works just fine and my Razer Naga macro software works just fine. So it's simply my gaming KEYpad software that isn't allowed? So SOME macro software is allowed?

So taking my testing another step further, I went and loaded another game that uses the same anti-cheat software EAC, 7 Days to Die. In that game I am able to use my gaming keypad just fine.
So I am really doubting that it is the anti-cheat software that is blocking the gaming keypad software.
you'd have to ask EAC knubbe or EAC sma. but last i heard macro tools are typically not supported by EAC for exactly the reason Elix stated. i think some use a slightly different method and aren't being blocked, but i'm not sure if it's by design or error.
in 7DTD they made a special arrangement at the devs request to whitelist some "macro software". so try another EAC protected game, and you will find the same thing as in rust, but no, it's probably working fine there.
