You shouldn't be able to take other peoples names, and you shouldn't be able to change so often, but it should definitely still be there.

Just saying that if you had the same name as somebody in game you could insult someone that might be their friend in reality, if you insult them a lot it could make one guy extremely angry at the other guy, who supposedly insulted him
I really like the name changing option. You can potentially enter the game with a clean slate and no hate with a new name. It's a fresh spawn on a new level.
I changed my name to "Faggot" and now it's hard for anyone to insult me.
As long as there's something that says "there's already a player with this name, choose another", I think it's good.
