Planning on installing R++ once HFB gives us the option. Question/Suggestion: Would it be possible to add some functionality for admins to remove foundations/pillars/ceilings? Would be nice to get rid of abandoned buildings and misplaced objects. If this has been suggested before or not possible, I apologize for repeating.
Same here, Also would like to see something that makes it so we can fix peoples bases after getting griefed
Rust++ v1.3.4 / Leather both now work on FPSplayers.com You ~do not~ have access to the ftp any longer so you cannot 1. make your own mods 2. modify a mod You can install Rust++ and DropParty and the other mod...
That sucks! I made a full backup ~12 hours ago using ftp and now I can't download even my save files, it takes forever and I don't get all the files. After the last Rust update Rust++ stopped worked, and thanks to FPS I can't update the mod because I no longer have access to rust_server_Data anymore. So please how can I install the update? If I remove the MOD will this screw my server save files? Oh so sad that we're abused, I signed up for a full ftp acces, but yeah not anymore.

My server has been running it all night. 1. Take down your server. 2. Backup the myserverdata folder in the file manager. (Zip it and download it so you have a backup.) 3. Uninstall Previous version of the mod. 4. Run the steam updater (if needed). 5. Install the newest version of the mod (assuming it is ready to go) under Mod Manager. At this point you can typically bring your server back up. If for whatever reason your server data got wiped after the steam update, then you can simply upload/unzip the saved copy that you have. Not much else is needed. -It's also always good to have a saved copy of your configuration files as well. Hope this helps.

Their not letting me accses rust_server_data and none of the mods are in mod manager. I've sendt them tonns of tickets now, and well lets say my patience is over. I've told them many times i need to accses the cfg of rust++ so i can backup it so i dont need to RE-edit EVERYTHING while uploading the update. (Tried to upload, it refuses me to do so) http://puu.sh/6fTEO.png Epic accses ? :(

Hard to manage a server with your hands tied behind your back. That being said - I would hope they are working on ways to resolve that problem.

I receieved a email that rust++ should now work and some ftp accses has been restored. But yesterday i atleast had accses to Mods\Plugins folder but not rust_server_data.. They just stripped the accses even more, and sendt a auto message that the accses to mods has been resolved. DUUU'UH! Faq dis shie And one more thing, the mod manager is crap. You can't accses shit, You would need to edit everything before uploading. And then doing everything you want edited, before uploading and overwriting the old cfg file. Their system is just crap, and it still says on their commercial "FULL FTP ACCSES". This ftp accses is called, Here, you can backup ur map\avatar files.
is it possible to take some of the messages and move them to the server message rather than in the chat [editline]10th January 2014[/editline] any idea why door share doesn't save upon server restart?
Why can I only enter 1 folder in the File manager? I want to update the mod to 1.3.4 but I can't thanks to this, if HFB are going to do this I will have to switch provider..

Great Game, but this is what the server host make me wanna do! :suicide:

Great Game, but this is what the server host make me wanna do! :suicide:
I switched to FPS. The truth is that full FTP access is not necessary at all. The way they have it setup - the 1 click install feature for the mods does everything you need. The server maintenance process I posted previous did not involve any FTP access. Simply using the file manager was all that was needed. The 1 click install modified the folder on its own without needing to be visible. This is the smart way of doing things as it maintains a specific level of security for the hosting company, and still provides everything we need to get the job done.
Is this mod going back on HFB servers or am i switching companies?
Is this mod going back on HFB servers or am i switching companies?
i think thats a question you need to ask hfb
i think thats a question you need to ask hfb
no answer from my ticket, thought someone here might know something more but thanks alot captain obvious
no answer from my ticket, thought someone here might know something more but thanks alot captain obvious
the only people that will know is the host next time don't ask an obvious question if you don't want an obvious answer
i think thats a question you need to ask hfb
Honestly this is the thread I check for updates. It's radio silence from HFB. EDIT: I'm not happy with HFB's communication through all this, or lack-thereof, but I am willing to wait a little longer for them to fix it. Having FTP will allow me to use my own tools to do automated backups, or upload my own mods.

Server was setup in 8 hours or so. I'm happy so far.

Also, we are currently adding mods, such as Rust++ to the mod manager, and expect to have them available to customers over the next few hours. We will issue an email to notify our customers when we have them added. Joe HFBServers Systems Engineer
