Any idea when this is going live?
think it just did, they just updated their homepage with the patch notes/details.
Update Live :)
So, someone can just go up to my door and continuously attempt to unlock my doors... That sucks...
Just updated about 96 MB of files, I see some new servers at Official section, but its missing the UK 1/2/3/4 ones where I play. I hope they get them back soon.
So, someone can just go up to my door and continuously attempt to unlock my doors... That sucks...
Only if you set the door to have a combo, otherwise its just you that can open them. Also you can put different codes on the doors if you really want and once you or your friends enter them they dont need to enter them again. Meaning someone coming through your house would need to figure out a different code for every door. Just don't use a stupid code like 1234 or 1111
This is such a better door share method than the server plugin methods, now you can have public and private rooms.

Wow. Read before you post. There is protection against this confirmed by Garry himself.

Yea im going to make private room in our house just to freak my room mates out. I'll walk in there from time to time and really it will just be an empty room they never get to see.

4 number combo lock means that there are only 10^4 or 10 thousand different combinations... I'm programmer and it would be a fairly simple hack to write a brute force algorithm just to try every combo until the door opens.
Is there some sort of logic or mechanism in place so that it only lets your try say 5 passwords before you can't anymore? Otherwise I can see there being a problem with this implementation, especially with how many hackers already exist it official servers.
Do the servers accepting new update have to wipe?

the answer to your questions are already in this thread
Damn, every time the music starts I mistake it for an airdrop :suicide:
Great update btw, thanks guys. The flare light is still broken though
Nice Video looks fun!
This update, fucked my server list, now when I open the game no servers popped up. Never happened to me before and i uninstalled 3 times already. GG alpha too op
Considering noone has updated yet. How about you calm down, and be patient!
Seems like now there's going to be foundations everywhere from where raiders needed a respawn point
You need a ceiling if you want to place a bed.
mouse sensitivity doesn't work anymore, input.mousespeed value changes do nothing
Update is out, essentials is broken :)
Please tell me I'm not the only one that's extremely disappointed with this patch. I mean, music? Higher res for grass? Passwords for your front door? BEDS?!
Most people either play their own music or chat with friends on TS/Vent while they play. The music is just unnecessary, especially right now. More grass textures, that's great! All the more reason that anyone playing on anything under a supercomputer should turn it OFF. Finally, beds and passwords. Don't the locks kind of remove the necessity for door sharing? I don't get it. Beds are cool and helpful, but why in the hell are they being implemented now? Why don't they focus on the glitches, bugs, fps drops and hacks prior to introducing new things? Is this typically how early access works? They keep introducing new items into the game until something new breaks and then they fix that?
am i the only one worried that 100m radius for the sleeping bag is way to small to mean anything? isn't it just above the range of a pistol? the raiders will come back in 30s anyway with such a short range making the change useless
mouse sensitivity doesn't work anymore, input.mousespeed value changes do nothing
That's probably in response to the fact that one could eliminate their gun sway by decreasing mouse sensitivity in-game and then increasing mouse sensitivity via the OS to get the look speed back to the original.

The grass and texture changes were for FPS, The door sharing is a 3rd party mod that was required for anyone that wanted it. if you visit there development trello site door combo locks was the highest thing voted (we can vote) up near 900 votes so they prioritized that.
You seem to think that they have one person doing all aspects of the game and that one person should only focus on what you want. If you have an audio guy maybe thats all he does. if you have someone who does graphics and textures, thats all he does. Maybe some of these different people have their tasks and they can't work on every aspect you want, there could be one guy working towards game glitches and bugs. You have no idea obviously. They actually fixed quite a lot of glitches and bugs in the last week and half. Hell they had two updates this week. It seems you haven't really read up on why a lot of these things got fixed or added or changed. Most the stuff in this patch was either requested heavily by the player base, or its a fix for some in game issue.
Is a wipe necessary for this patch?
no you dont need to wipe

People tend to forget this game is in alpha.

Alpha is generally the time for adding new features, Beta is when the hardcore bug-fixing happens. So yes, this is usually how a proper alpha goes.
What happened to the helicopter on Trello?
I love the idea of combination locks, that would make it easier to start up a community even if you don't really trust some of the members.
But as some people have stated, there might be a big chance that people start bruteforcing the locks.... If they'd try a combination every second it would take them about 2-3 hours to crack it tops. Assuming they would start at 0001 and so on I'd guess that there's a big chance that they'd crack it faster then 2-3 hours (since people would usually go with combinations 1-7 ) Keep in mind, I'm just guessing, but I can already hear the complains on the forums: "i got hacked, my door is still up but my stuff is gone" - "ppl know my locking code, it's 4321, how did they know?"
etc. etc.
Thats ridiculous... First of all it will take LONGER than 1 second to put in a 4 digit code, certainly longer to put in a second one. If it took them 3 seconds per code (still very very fast) it would take them 9-10 hours of going through the 10,000 different number combinations worst case scenario. Probably more like 6 hours if they get lucky.
It seems like you guys are hating on the music not because it's not good, but because it's music. Why is that such a big deal? Is it so hard to mute your music in the sound menu? It's kind of insulting to a person who put effort into those tracks that you dislike it, simply because you don't like music in this game.

How? Somebody else worked on the music, it's not like the dev team wasted precious time making music when they could have been doing something else. And honestly the assumption that nobody ever listens to ingame music is way off base.
To me this game was fucking dreadful without any real ambiance. It was so lifeless and monotone when I wasn't really doing anything that I actually considered spending the time to make my own soundscapes just so it would be a bit more interesting.
Hmm, that's cool and bad at the same time. It's going to be a pain in the ass if you are being chased to run at home and type your password...
I'd like something like a key you could use only once on your character and then unlock all the door "binded" with that key... If you die the owner of the door have to re craft the key.
The door owner never has to put in the password to gain access. It won't matter if you have 6 different doors with all different pass codes because you won't have to know them to get in. However, if you plan on sharing access with someone, you will need to know them all for them to gain access.
