Well, from what I've gathered thus far, it's the same setting as dayz/warz: mmo-sized zombie wasteland free-for-all.
Also garry said he wants to keep in different (not ripoff-ish) than dayz

It wasn't 10k a time at all at the start of the beta, you basically had to join the IRC and ask garry nicely
