The members who were here already resent the newer members who want to try to get to play RUST because the idea of new people being interested in a product advertised on their forums is repugnant, and all potential customers who would purchase the product or services related to it should not be here.
It's a bit developmentally backwards.

Do people realise that this game got an advertisement blog? That's why there is so much traffic flooding in. This community doesn't seem to like new members, it's quite off-putting really.

We don't like most of the new members because they often have horrible spelling and grammar, shitpost, and just generally don't fit in here. Facepunch is better than most forums because almost all of the people who can't type or just repeat dumb memes get so much backlash that they just leave and never come back.
The reason that so many new members is a bad thing is because most of them just shitpost.

Begging for keys or searching for keys etc works in 99% of early access cases. It's not their fault that this one doesn't.

Also, I've had no critical feedback on my suggestion to update the OP to make it clear to all these new people what to do. Maybe that would stop all these "shitposts" or are we much more contempt to just complain about the situation rather than amending it?

Wait for Garry to release more keys or produce a new method of obtaining them.
Sitting in the thread for hours on end asking for keys/asking when more keys are going to be released when the one guy who is releasing them hasn't said a thing for hours, and then only to post more keys, does nothing.
And I get that there are some here who aren't shitposters, but you're fighting an uphill battle when most who have arrived are.

Basically, the money you pay for buying a title or gold membership goes to maintaining the forums. With less money coming out of Garry's pocket for maintaining the forums he can put more towards Rust development.

This forum apparently does look down on these people - however it is a learned behavior. Typically the best way to get a key if there isn't any readily available is.. shock horror... to ask for them where they are being advertised. That's more or less logical.
I don't see anyone here sitting around "for hours" and asking "hard enough". The vast majority are a few polite posts saying "Hi I would appreciate a key thank you [email here]" and that's it.
I don't see anyone complaining about being treated badly. I've already had a few good conversations via PM here and a few hilarious ones.
I think the most questionable thing you just said is that it's unreasonable for people to expect to be treated with compassion and patience when they are asking for a handout. That's some serious entitlement right there - and I mean drastically maladjusted concept of the "have/have not" problem.
