Fair enough, but this mob mentality is ridiculous. Garry hasn't posted keys for nearly 12 hours now, and even then he was only posting them [I]very[/I] periodically. Continually asking for something that is not forthcoming is just stupid. The keys will get here when they get here.

I was using the term "handout" in the loosest possible sense. We're talking about people asking for beta keys here so they can play their video game early. I'm not obligated to treat anyone seeking such a "handout" with compassion. You're not some charity case.

I agree with this. But the people posting don't generally know they arn't forthcoming. I've long since worked that out but I'm also putting effort into being here :)
And in reply to the people quoted : I don't think any of that constitutes sitting around for hours or asking hard enough. Someone says they are going to stalk the thread until more keys come out. Isn't that what... everyone is doing? Isn't that the BEST THING POSSIBLE for you? Waiting for a key instead of spamming?
And sure the "Moar keys" posts are content-less but they aren't sitting around "for hours" asking "hard enough". That's some guy out there who wants what Garry's making and is enthusiastic. He's not sitting at his keyboard for hours posting that message over and over again. So what if they are not "polite" like I said the majority I saw were - and sure I may be wrong. You've got some good examples of people who are not being polite. But they are still sure as hell not spamming, or whining or anything else in massive quantities. I'd be tempted to post "More keys dude!" because - surprise - I would like a key. I'm just lucky enough to respect the community and have a bit of sense to not do so.
And no you're not "obligated" to treat anyone with compassion. Unless you're a person's carer or guardian you're not "obligated" to treat anyone with anything at all. You're a human being and I'm a human being and even the people who aren't informed and just want to play a cool game are human beings too. That to me is enough reason to treat everyone with compassion and patience.

The Game "Rust" (if played correctly) seems to have a very emotional effect on people who are not able to play, while others can.
I mean, why can't we just be happy for those who are already inside the beta?
There is always something we can and something we can't have. One day or the other the Game will be released, am i wrong ?!

Last Week i even did not know that Rust exists, but i wanted to test it out the second i saw some gameplay.
I remember a guy looting a building, he found some random stuff. He turned towards the door and suddenly somebody else was there too.
I could feel the tension. But no one took a shot, they crouched to communicate. They walked along the road. An met up with some other guy.
Again. Tension. But no shots fired. They parted their ways. It felt like some good game which has some bugs, but also tries to show its own ideas.
But after i read almost all 55 pages i understand why the devs had to shut down the
beta registration. That makes me sad. Now there is so much confusion, within the community and this thread!
I still would love to play Rust, not because everybody would like to play but because i like to team up. I am a Trader.

Although a key would be nice, I'm more interested in finding a way to keep track of the development of this. anyone know if there's a twitter account either for this game itself or for the devs (if they post about development?)
