One rule: Kill or be killed! No mercy :p But i no prefer action like KoS, if i see som1 run to me i try survive and kill him its all.
ok, one basic thing i have picked up from these forums mate.... We speak english.... Not, whatever that language is..... Just wow man, how can one person make such a sentence?
Voip fully works on the non webplayer client with a plugin. https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/#/search/voip Garry will probably add something like this when it's out of alpha and working with a actual downloadable client.
Why would Garry do it when he's not the lead developer? I hope you mean Helk. OT: I've yet to find any friendly players... They just chase me wherever I go.
I KOS because everybody KOS's
I guess I play this wrong because I don't KOS. Then again if I'm lucky I only get like 1 hit in when defending myself. The only player kill I have was someone who dropped in 1 hit due to me witnessing some sort of brawl and s/he was the "winner", saw me and started advancing. There WAS a chance they might have just asked if I had a spare medkit, but after the hour and a half of nearly everyone I saw making it a priority to get me when I was just passing by, I wasn't taking a chance.

I have seen some of the Rust developers on here discussing suggestions.
I have tried to maintain peace with other players in the game but others are making it extremely hard, since everybody always attacks me. One way we can deal with this is by nerfing the hatchet. It is seriously way too overpowered

When i registered almost nobody killed on sight. i did and everyone was yelling at me saying "POLARIS WTF". i feel somewhat responsible for the game turning out like this maybe im an egotist. i have racked up more kills than i can ever count and its all thanks to jedi academy and knights pirates and vikings. awesome games utilizing hand to hand combat that made me the deadliest hatchet weilder [editline]21st June 2013[/editline] Oh yea to answer the question: i KoS because i can. its not frowned upon like in DarkRP. its allowed to tough luck. the only people that complain about KoS are the ones that suck and dont just get KoSed, but get killed when attempting to KoS
A potential problem is if the hatchet is nerfed, it could end up taking longer to kill wildlife or Zombies.
I doubt it would be particularly hard to make the hatchet cause less damage to players specifically. Though that wouldn't leave you with much for close quarters right now. It's really fucking hard to actually use the beta for what it is for, testing, when every motherfucker is just killing you without reason.

That's the trouble with this kind of game. It's a great idea, as was TheWarZ, DayZ ect, but they all just turn into a PvP killfest with no focus whatsoever on actual survival or the other great things the game offers. PvP and PvE modes would be pretty cool, so people who want to focus on just surviving can do that, but I'm pretty sure the devs want a free, open world where everyone can play how they want. Unfortunately though, that just means kill everything in sight.
Well, if nothing else, Rust answers the eternal question of "Why do people war with each other and kill?" The answer, as we now know, is because they're dicks that may or may not want our loot.
Because they're traitors.
why are you playing an open world pvp game and complaining about people killing you on sight these games have been in existence for ages and there are still people who can't grasp this concept just play something else if you don't like it holy heck [editline]22nd June 2013[/editline] the whole point is for players to develop their own societies and standards in that respect, you're not getting anywhere by complaining about the current state of things
the whole point is for players to develop their own societies and standards in that respect, you're not getting anywhere by complaining about the current state of things
That's the trouble, it's borderline impossible to do that because of the current state of things. I'm sure it'll change, but that's the main reason a lot of people are complaining at the moment.
If a player is following or walking in my direction, if I'm desperately in need of supplies or if they were to open fire / attempt to hatchet me then I will KoS. However, if they turn in the opposite direction or acknowledge themselves as friendly then I wont.
I don't want to hear any of this "Because I don't want to die." bullshit.
I don't want to die. If you are a player you are a threat, simple as that. It is a survival game, and whether or not I survive depends entirely on keeping you from me. The risk of being friendly is much greater than the reward.
What is your reason to make this game so boring?
That's your own opinion. My opinion is that the game would be boring without having a human target. Its the thrill of the chase, the giddy feeling of walking up to someone's remains and wondering what goodies you will get today. Chopping woodpiles and building houses? I've been doing that for 3 years on Minecraft, and if that's all you want to do I suggest you go play that on peaceful mode with some friends. If you absolutely want to just build in peace then go as far into the wilderness as you can. There are places where you won't be bothered, but if you do expect to chop regular trees, because me and every other person who is ready and able to take you down will be fighting for the right to the good materials. In survival games you can either survive or thrive. Surviving is easy, but if you even plan on thinking on thriving you must be willing to take risks.
VoIP is usually hard as hell to implement. I remember the WarZ devs working their asses off just to get something slightly working, and then work even further to make it stop fucking everything up.
Do you still play that? I don't usually KOS. But if I do, it's because I recently got something valuable, and don't want anyone to take it from me. Mostly it's if people approach without giving any indication of their intentions.
People Kos, kos they can.
So I take it the idea of 2 getting twice the work done in the same amount of time is new to you...
I have friends that I have made, but I only trust them and not people that I find in a field. And quite honestly 2 getting twice the amount of work done is still not enough of a reward to warrant betting ALL of my current inventory on some guy I found being good. Stranger danger
Basically every PvP game is a KoS fest because there's no reason to not kill on sight. If you KoS people you get: - A whole bunch of shit that they spent a while getting - The guy is dead, and dead people can't shoot at you - Defend your territory or w/e, send a message to not fuck with you If you don't KoS: - You risk getting shot - You risk dying - You risk losing all your shit - You might make a friend or two if they don't murder you super hard - However, that 'friend' could backstab you for all your shit anyway [editline]22nd June 2013[/editline] DayZ is a good example of this. The rarer shit is, the more likely people will kill each other. Early on, Rust wasn't KoS because it took like 20 minutes to get everything in the game and you didn't lose anything except for whatever was on your 2-5 hotbar.
In my opinion KOS and taking stuff from peoples chest with or without using the glitch is part of the game and makes it challenging, otherwise it would be pretty dull if you just went into your house, took some resources and you didn't have to worry about some newbie come and start chopping you.
