Well...if you say you're not stupid and you hate hackers then it definitely must have been a bug. I mean...I've never heard of a server admin and someone who hated hackers being VAC banned before. This has got to be a first. Maybe you fell down a mountain too fast and the game thought you were speedhacking or something.

If you are 100% sure you didn't hack, then my take is that someone used your account and hacked, most likely your "friend".
So i take it your "9" hours of rust ont hat account led you to rent a server?
Or did you maybe, just maybe have another acc you cheated on, got banned.
Then swapped accounts and forgot ur ahck was detected, so you used it again?
But hey, i always rent my own server after 2 hours of gameplay, cuz u know... logic and stuff -.-

VAC bans only occur for the game you cheated in with some exceptions.

DotA does run on the source engine but i dont know if the fact on how modded it is. Plus i dont remember if DotA2 has VAC hell it might not even have a anticheat but i swear i couldnt connect to it on my experiment account maybe it was just a server issue at the time.[/QUOTE]

Everybody shut up about what VAC does and doesn't group together when applying bans, because the list is publicly available right there, and it's pretty straightforward. Also, CS:GO and L4D/2 are not listed as being lumped together with TF2/Source engine bans.
This info is public and there is still so much ignorance in this thread about what comes with a ban.
