I thought the same thing when I came back after skipping a day on MCM US 1. It was decay, but after noticing the many wood storage boxes strewn upon the ground outside of my structure. It was apparent that this was duping of c4, not decay. I hope that Valve will limit duping and hacking, if not remove it from the game completely. After all, this can be a great game.

18 years an adult...
I have 42 years, a job, a wife, kids, I play alone and I have no problems to connect 5 minutes every days to stop decay !
You don't work 24hours/24hours...
It's not a game for casual gamers !
Well I have school and a full time job, i get 5 hours of sleep a night. If you are 42 you should probably stop playing videogames. lol

You're so mature

BLASPHEMY! One is never too old for games sir. That's like saying your grandmother is too old to be watching reruns of her favorite TV shows from the 50s.
Made me lol
I notice your age isn't on your profile you are probably like 14.

Every reply you make shows of you're not an adult even tho you're 18 years old. Being 18, 28, 38 or 100 doesn't make you an adult. It's the mindset that makes you mature. You can't even comprehend that 40+ year old people are just like you and me except they have (not always tho) more responsibilities(kids, house, wife). But please keep insisting you're an adult because you work full time and sleep 5 hours a day (lmao).

If thats how you truly feel and where this game is headed, then there should be a warning before buying "Warning: Daily log-ins required to maintain self-built buildings."
That being said
Remember, you're testing, not playing. Losing your base after not testing for 24 hours is a good punishment.
I hope decay isn't quite so bad once "released." Not to mention there should be no punishment anyway for "not testing." We paid for this "testing phase." OP has played and is providing feedback. He shouldn't be "punished" because he doesn't log in every single day.

Oh okay, so I should be punished for helping fund the game, reporting shit tons of bugs and I was one of the original people who recommended the work bench. Punishment. Really dude? I have to work to make money. I had to work to buy this game. I wasn't like you. I didn't have mommy and daddy buy it for me.

I think you're missing the point. The alpha stage isn't released for your personal enjoyment primarily, it's released for the developers' aid primarily. If things seem off and even frustrating, welcome to a tester's world. I've tested several mods and even an actual game in alpha stages and they've been frustrating as all hell, often making me lose hours of progress for an error in the game. That's how it is, they fix it one by one. Acting like an immature brat in the thread won't give you any faster results, I shouldn't need to remind you of this since you are an adult.
Sure, the decay rate could be changed and it most likely will. However if you find it absolutely unplayable as of now find something else to do with what little time you have until they release a patch that changes it. It really is quite simple, mulling over something like this is a waste of time for anybody.

They have tweaked the decay rate before and it isn't hard for them to do. I stated this in the Original Post.
Decay rate should be fixed. Don't see where the argument started. I had stashes with c4 that decayed in a matter of days ;/
If you so much as open a box or a door, or a campfire or furnace is on, or there is any activity in a house at all it will not decay ( by you or anyone else )
Wood
-Decay 'grace period' 24 hours
-Each 'level' of the house (top to bottom) ~3 hours to decay
Metal
-Decay 'grace period' 48 hours
-Each 'level' of the house (top to bottom) ~12 hours to decay
This means a 3 story wood house from the moment there is no activity would take approx. 36 hours for it to completely disappear (including foundations) but as long as you did anything within a 24 hour period it wouldn't need repairs at all.
A metal house of the same dimensions would take approx. 96 hours ( 4 days ) to decay
Please suggest some alternate timings if you wish

My reply still stands. The decay rate most likely will be changed (again) at some point in the future, so it's just a matter of patience.

I would like maybe 48 hours for walls and like 56 hours for foundations. That's up to you though. I do feel like the people who have class and jobs are almost discouraged to playing this game. I would like not to get on a single day and have my house still be there. I don't mind every other day joining in and starting a campfire and opening a couple doors, and replacing some metal doors that might be blown down. I hate joining in to play after playing for like 6 hours to get a house built just a day earlier, to be confronted with no home.
