It is happening on my server as well, people complaining of being killed
Fortunately I haven't encountered this, but I wonder how it's being done There must be some type of kill all command that someone is exploiting
This game is very poorly detected even for alpha. And how is there no official admins checking servers and banning people? They mod the forums more then they mod the servers. Mass suicide Mass suicide Mass suicide Fun game. And yes its alpha. A unplayable alpha.
UK2 has gone from 128/128 to 33/128 Gj guys, Keep up the exploits in your coding! 10/10 Will 100% play this Emo simulator again
this is happening on every server I play on. I'm standing in the middle of a field away from everyone and I suicide.
I hopped onto US East to play a little there and was met with mass suicide over and over. They are killing this game. Nobody is even coming online anymore.
Rust Essentials has a kill command in it, admins can kill players
Yea, but we don't have a feature that allows you to force kill ALL players on the server.
Find another server? Hasn't happened on my server. And I play on some other pretty busy servers (typically 40 - 80 players) and it hasn't happened there.
The butthurt seems strong with this one.. [editline]15th January 2014[/editline]
I hopped onto US East to play a little there and was met with mass suicide over and over.
You think rust cares? they already took our money, this isn't no subscription based game...
Well they fixed some noclipping hacks, they fixed the duping hack, they fixed looting through wall hack yet you claim they're not fixing anything rofl
The butthurt seems strong with this one..
I'm continually dumbfounded at all the people who expect -- nay, DEMAND -- that this game be flawless right now. There will be cheaters, there will be bugs, there will be problems, there will be LOTS of room for improvement ... it's all part of being alpha. In this case, if a server becomes unplayable, you just walk away. Find another server, or put the game down for a few days. Maybe read a book or go outside. Seriously - it'll be here when you get back, and you won't have to deal with the cheaters. The people raging in the forums about "OMG HACKERS THE DEVS ARE LAZY" deserve to just quit the Internet.
How dare you pay 20.00 and expect to play. Its alpha. Morons!!!!!!
this mass kill is retarded as hell... worst hack ever... and we dont even know who doing the hack so we cant even ban them

Others, you know the ones who invest real Monthly Money and dedicate tremendous amounts of time running and modding there servers so you can play may have a different outlook. Admins need proper tools to combat hackers, like esp, and spectate, kill logs and a better rcon tool. At a minimum the Rcon needs to log all players that connect and disconnect and keep a easily sorted log so that we can manage the playerbase properly. 20 or 40 dollars per month per server hosted adds up, we are the playerbases life line, we provide the space so the playerbase can grow, we just cant go, Oh well it was only 20$ that mommy gave me, I will just play C.O.D, its only alpha. We need a patch pronto, at least give us the option to turn off suicide.

This game is in alpha, and you have unrealistic expectations for an unfinished game. Are the hackers assholes? Yep! VAC should take care of most of them soon enough. The devs are looking at additional options. They are very aware.
Its not a mass kill and its not a suicide command. If you type suicide you fall down dead without the sound of breaking legs like the hack is doing. From what the hackers say, they can kill anyone in ESP range just by aiming at them and hitting the hack.

However, between the rubberbanding and the mass hacking, especially the suicide hacking, it's virtually unplayable. How can you enjoy a survival game where your survival half the time depends on whether you're lagging and the other half the time about whether a hacker just happened to type your name into a suicide console? Heck, I love a lot of things about this game. It reminds me of early Ultima Online where you basically had to fend for yourself without some code taking away PvP and with scarce resources. I do think the resources need a little tweaking, btw... not so much in more resources, but they need to be spread out more so that the three prime locations (Hacker, Next, Resource) don't get camped. But, here's the thing. I understand it's an alpha. I understand a lot has to be fixed and I can be patient about it. However, the idea that the official servers have no moderators to ban hate speech, griefers or spammers, the Rust Admin don't communicate much in forums and almost never in-game and they do things like updates and server wipes without warning or patch notes with all this happening on the official servers makes me wonder how well supported the final product would be. That Rust post came out before the suicide hack and it's hard to tell if any admin stayed behind from their Seattle gathering to do anything about it.

A quick search for "accidental suicide hack loophole" and then deleting that should be a 5 minute fix at most. And it's not like things are intertwined or anything. There's totally just a box to turn on and off the features of the game and have it work flawlessly afterwards. They should totally just turn the suicide on switch to off. How are they not seeing this!
