Did you ever try the pre release branch? Since I guess that you've never tried it and cannot speak from experience! It is a really nice thing and it is still special compared to other games.
@sneak2 I also really hated searching for BP's, since it was so random and all about luck. The XP system causes you to grow equal. (if you play the same amount of time!)
The most fun i have had in rust is right after a BP wipe where everyone is back in the stone age, too bad it only lasts a day because the next day most of the clans have guns. People will be moving around for a whole week before they have the XP to sit in a tower the whole day.
I can see door less base designs becoming quite popular after XP releases.
