Admin abuse on every server I try, something needs to change!
Maybe I am being an ass, but that's only because I've seen the 500 threads exactly like this before.
You've obviously had bad luck, and that sucks. But quite frankly: get over it.
People pay real money for these servers, they can do whatever the hell they want with them.
Plus I'm sick and tired of you pulling out these bullshit statistics: "100% of admins spawn items for their friends." If you actually believe that then go play another game, seriously.
Pretty much this. Stop spamming forums with this horse shit.
Hello I play on the Rust Fanactics server. And live in that giant base that went up over night 2 days after a wipe. First not one of us are hackers or cheats. We are 10+ people who farmed non stop since the wipe and had plenty of mats to build a base and shoot off rounds freely. Second the Admin on the server is 100% legit. He is not a personal friend of our clan nor does he give us anything. He was in the field next to the base removing misplaced building parts for us. I think you should find a new game to play since this one seems to against everything you beleave in.. Maybe Hello Kitty Island is more your speed.
Servers owners just need to be responsible and use mods to limit admin permissions. I believe item spawning ruins the game's economy, I know a lot of people say "it is their server they can do what you want", but on other servers / games I run, admins spawning in items to gain an edge on the players = no players / server failure.
So let them spawn what they want, if players don't like it, they will leave. Nerfing the rcon tools is a stupid idea, it just takes maturity on the server owner's part to not let what they do effect regular players. :P
I try to avoid servers that have admins, because that means the admins and their buddies are going to be killing people in full kev and unlimited ammo with M4s 2 days after a wipe or less.
I tried playing a server called Rust Fanatics, it was going ok, I stayed up real late to give myself a safe spot, next to a guy that was cool and helped me. Wake up today with a huge metal base next to me, with people firing unlimited rounds at animals and people everywhere. I walked over naked to talk to them and see if I could come out and gather without being killed at random, the guy said he was an admin, and had 12 of his friends living in the base.
I know how people play when their ammo is spawned in, the first 4 days of the server I started, we played the same and spawned in stuff to see what could be build and achieved and had a lot of ammo, we got done with testing and wiped, and never spawned in anything again. Sadly a lot of players came on during our testing period and flamed saying I was admin abusing. Well I was trying to learn how to host a server and play the game, I never attacked or raided anyone with spawned in items. I can understand people testing out commands, but letting it become habit when their server becomes established and has big playerbase?
I do not trust servers that say "Active Admins" because all that says to me is you will always be killed by the admins and their buddies spawning stuff in. This needs to change.
The item spawning commands need to be removed from the game, it is making all the players miserable. I think admins spawning in items is more of a problem than hackers.
Remove the item spawning commands from this game please, it needs to happen! Because everyone is abusing it and me and my friends are unable to find a server to play on because of it, and our own server is dead.
Play on an official server.
1st server I played on built a 4x3 with 3 stories, got raided by the admin and his 3 buddies. No prob, was a legit raid. Built up 3 more stories, added a bunch of metal doors, got an M4. Admins gang came back, killed 3 of them and 1 escaped. They had spent 8 C4 before I stopped them so fixed up the damage and added more doors. 2 hours later they come back again. This time they aren't going down. Few times I was wondering how the hell they had survived repeated hits, then I got 1 bodyshot and 2 headshots on the same guy with an M4 in under 2sec and he doesn't die. So yeah, godmode. They went through 14 metal doors and half a dozen wood walls clearing out my base (missed my hidden caches though). That's 34 C4. And the 8 from earlier. They denied the godmode and spawning C4 but no one legitimately has that much C4 to spend on one guys house. So fk that server.
2nd server. Most of the players there were the admin's friends (figured this out late because they were all playing vs each other waiting for pop to pick up), yet even though the admin's base was raided and a lot of the signs pointed to me (wasn't me but someone had built stairs in, taken a bunch of construction materials, and on the same day I'd built a big base from scratch just up the road) I didn't get raided, he didn't have the C4 to do it. So yeah, some admins play legit. Population never picked up there though, was a shame but left eventually.
3rd server (current one). Admins completely inactive. Haven't seen one in all the time I've been playing, and the huge metal admin base was crumbling down when I started. Healthy population though, and we've been lucky with hackers. One turned up, noclipped into a guys house, killed him and stole everything. Under an hour later 3 guys found the hackers base, killed him, trashed the base and took everything back. Hacker ragequit. Haven't seen another or evidence of one.
Lots of different ways for admins to behave, they aren't all abusing their powers but you have to be lucky.

It's good to see that at least some people realize that not everyone in the game is trying to fuck everyone else over.

Only admin, not grouped with anyone. Unlike others I enjoy find stuff and doing the work myself, but was tired of seeing other admins exploit and cheat, so I created a server for that very reason. No one gets stuff on my server including me!

No admin abuse and vanilla:)
A problem and sad thing i NEVER see, is admins making events from spawned item, like building a jumping maze with a reward inside, and warn people that shoot within the event radius will be temp banned from the server.
Not true we do air raids and plant easter eggs all over the map yet server is dead because Rust++ is broken. Players want their cake and they don't even show a lick of loyalty unless the admins kiss them where the sun don't shine. Try being on the other side of the fence for once and see how green the grass is.
I would invite most people to my server usually, but reading your first post, I don't think we want narrowminded people like you :P
We purely administrate btw, and it's definitely possible through observation of ~3-4 wipes for groups to get m4 and kevlar in 2 days or less.
Ubadbro?
I Never see admin abuse on pve server, except for construct Event PVP.
buy your own damn server or stop complaining.

Your liberal use of "all" and "everyone" is amusing. I host a server, but I actually haven't played much. If you want to call chatting through Rusty, spamming airdrops, and regularly updating and adjusting server settings "active", then you better watch out or one of my airdrops will abuse your head.

Hi Peasant333
I absolutly understand your frustration. The only thing I can recommend to you is looking for a server where you find a fair Admin. I also run my own PVE server where I play as admin fair. I collect ressources as everybody else and I'm looking for blueprints to learn new stuf instead of using commands to get everything without having worked for it. Otherwise I would be bored to death.
Now about your proposal to remove the command functions for admins.
1. Those commands can also be used for the good of all players as e.g. "Explosive Charges" to remove buildingparts placed by others to ruin a players house.
2. To port a in the wilderness lost player
3. To port to a player who needs help
Best Regards
Larsero
Aaaand now it turns into a server ad thread... like all of the ones before it.
*facepalm*
This.
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1345663&highlight=konvict+gaming no admin abuse here
We raided a group 3 days after reset after getting c4 and explosive from a supply signal from an airdrop first day of reset. The group accused us of being helped by admins which never happened. It's hilarious how paranoid and shit some people are! The guy ragequit over it after the admins actually took action against him for flaming constantly in chat about it.
Pretty hilarious, yet sad at the same time. People are too quick to assume/throw accusations around when the reality is, they are slackers and got rolled fair and square. Some people just can't take losing!
Very quick reply here... People pay to rent a server, they can run it however they feel, nobody has the right to say otherwise.
I do not agree with admins spawning in items on a PVP server, but it happens, nothing you can do about it besides finding a different server. It took me almost two dozen PVP servers to find the one I liked, and that made me want to get my own, which I did and it's a strictly PVE server where people can learn the game in peace.
So nobody has any right to say someone renting a server shouldn't be able to use recon, or spawn items, or anything.... Unless you are the one paying for it, STFU. And your use of "everyone" is insulting and ignorant..... Just because you failed at running a server, doesn't mean everyone else has to as well.
Stop being a whiner OP. Not all servers have 'bad' admins. People shooting animals does not constitute "unlimited ammo", you'd have absolutely no way of knowing that so why even say it. If you (and others) feel the admin is bad, then leave, and the server dies. It's capitalism/democracy. People leave the bad servers, stick with good servers. The first private server I tried had fantastic admins, and I've never left, and I probably never will. Find one yourself, and stick with it.
If I can do it, you can too.
I gave up on "community" servers long ago... Waste of time unless you like playing alone or with a bunch of no-lives, let alone the intolerable dicking around and re-sets.
Two words: "Official Servers"
Yes, the official servers are hacker-magnets, but that's a temporary problem, and really not a concern in the long run since most hackers get easily bored and move on.
Go pony up the $20+ monthly fee and rent your own server then.
There is a lot of admin abuse, but most of the time it's just overzealous admins who ban without a good idea of how the game works, and just ban a lot of people falsely. You just have to find the good servers. Most of the ones with a lot of admin abuse don't tend to have a lot of people on them, but there are exceptions.
If your interested my server has low ping/no lag, always up, i don't plan on wiping it and your guaranteed 100% to have no admin abuse, i'm the only admin and i'm strictly against using commands.
But don't take my word for it, join and ask any players online!
net.connect "74.91.122.138:28015"
in console(F1) if you want to check it out.
If your worried about getting banned don't be, anyone can message me and report someone hacking and i will make sure they are before i ban them, so far i have not had to a ban a single person.
If you get banned for raiding an admins base, just find a different server. Its their server/they are the people in power, they can ban people for whatever reason they want. If an admin wants to outfit friends with stuff they summoned, thats what they chose to do on their server. Yeah, having your place destroyed by on demand admin C4 is kinda messed up, but again their server/they are the people in power, their rules.
Funny how I barely see any complaints regarding servers where admins just give stuff away to everybody, and when I do it tends to be "I didn't get there in time and missed out, 0/10 bad server abusive admins".
I'm not a server admin/owner for the record/people who think so. I am just kind of sick of people expecting "abusive" admins to be stripped of their privileges thanks to a complaint thread here. As well as "don't play here *server IP because I feel the need to advertise rather than give a name*, they are mean!!1" threads.
yet again, not true, every admin I have seen has been a player, killing people, and banning anyone who says anything about it or calls them out.
Well since every admin you've seen obviously equals all admins in the game it must be true.
Do you even logic bro?
yet again, not true, every admin I have seen has been a player, killing people, and banning anyone who says anything about it or calls them out.
I realize you claim that "every admin" that you have seen uses the admin status to play less than fair, but do not generalize your bad luck to the community as a whole....
I have put in close to 300 hours so far in Rust, a third on my own server... You know what I have on my server for a "home base"? A 2x6, two story WOOD building.... On another server that I play on, I have a massive metal monstrosity..... So enough with the generalizations, you had some bad luck, that sucks... But it isn't fair to the good admins (and there are plenty), for people like yourself to come here bitchin and moanin about the few bad ones you have run across....
We created a server because of this very same problem. We just want to play on an even field with everyone and no one is special. You are welcome to join us. 70.32.33.90:28135

OH HERES A IDEA! Play on official servers hosted by the devs they dont abuse.
Join this server great to get started Pvp/Pve/Tp/Active Admins/NoSleepers/Starterkit/oxide
I've just wiped my server where I've currently played being killed and build my house doing my own farm like all other players!
If you want join I'm opening it in 1 hour:

I've created it because in every server I've played I've always found dickhead admins that abuse their power. I'm here to play in my server and to help people enjoying Rust, not to try to have a larger dick :V
