How 'bout the game performance reporting ? or the source code ? Hell, even the "future platform" thing... But i do admit that "critical" was a bit exaggerated.
None of that is at all relevant to making shirt skins. garry was replying to a poster who wasn't aware that Unity 5's licensing model changed and assumed there was an up-front cost to get Unity period. If you are going to be making your own game as a serious, commercial product, it's worth it to upgrade to professional, but that's not what's being discussed here, so Unity's paywalled limitations are irrelevant.

My bad. End of discussion then.

First time posting here. I'm thinking about creating some skins to the game, but I don't know exactly how Steam Workshops works. If my product has been selected to be in the game, can I earn money from that? I read somewhere that I need to send my bank account info in order to receive payments from steam, but where can I do that?

And even if you item was picked it would become official and not related to your account other than maybe a thank you.
You can't host paid workshop items. And even if you item was picked it would become official and not related to your account other than maybe a thank you.
So the same happens to TF2?
You can't host paid workshop items. And even if you item was picked it would become official and not related to your account other than maybe a thank you.
Source? In every other game that does this (CSGO, TF2, DOTA) item creator gets a cut from every sale of said item in the marketplace.
Source? In every other game that does this (CSGO, TF2, DOTA) item creator gets a cut from every sale of said item in the marketplace.
I was thinking the same. What's the point of making skins, if steam sells it, and I dont receive anything?
Source? In every other game that does this (CSGO, TF2, DOTA) item creator gets a cut from every sale of said item in the marketplace.
If you read it properly it says the game creator AKA FacePunch get a small percentage, not the original creator of the item. You don't need me to get a source, it's the steam market agreement.
Just checking Rust Workshop page and I found this "Item Creators Can Earn Royalties Items from this Workshop that are accepted for sale will pay the creators a split of the revenue if that item is sold for a fee."
It's not set up yet for players to make items and get money from them. It is not even close to that - if that ever happens. FP is just letting players design their own clothing skins. The items someone makes now might not even get in the game. You are treating this like a finished feature of Rust that is setup as part of Steam Workshop. It is not. This is something completely different:
"Item Creators Can Earn Royalties Items from this Workshop that are accepted for sale will pay the creators a split of the revenue if that item is sold for a fee."
Is it allowed to use logos from other companies on skins? Here is my first skin:

Workshop is up. all that workshop stuff is steam and it works right now.

I'm having a problem. I press "Create & Upload" and a new window opens that says it is uploading, and then I can check on friends list that Rust is open. Whats happening? Also in unity if I press View Online, it goes to a steam page with this message "The item is either marked as hidden or you do not have permission to view it." Edit: Finally I got it. There it is, the #1 T-Shirt
