First of all, how does this relate to the Skin SDK? (and you even QUOTED Garry's post)
Second, just keep reading the Devblogs, you will see what they are currently working on.
Third, the concept of having an open alpha seems to be working really well, as it enables the community to take part IN and a close look AT the whole process of development.
Fourth, as mentioned before, this is an open Alpha, not a finished game. Updates happen weekly (or bi-weekly right now) - they are not patches for anything close to being finished.
The game is actively being worked on on all fronts, INCLUDING the inclusion of some older concepts - just not all at once. Some things just take precedence, or simply less time. That doesn't mean other things are being cancelled or scrapped. (Yes, some ideas get abandoned, like the system for using plants to camouflage your clothing - but that doesn't happen often)
Just be patient and keep reading the Devblog, the Twitter feed, and maybe Rustafied.
